i had a new shop built at my home last summer i got it from american metal carports its a 24 x 24 with 10 ft walls , biggest i could build due to code its insulated wired 100 amp service two roll up doors heated and i have 40000 in to it the building itself took 8 hours to install from slab to done biggest cost was concrete work driveway and slab with footing was 16000 of the total cost plenty of room for my three old cars and four post and my tools

That’s a nice shop, but I’ll never understand the idea of setting wood posts in the ground? Even pressure treated wood rots in the dirt. I won’t use wood posts even for a fence for this reason.

Yeah I hear you. It’s all a balance for price. The building will outlast him and I most likely. But steel beams in a slab would be better.

Just wondering cobber, what height is your shop ceiling? I was thinking i'd need to build a shop with a roof height over 4metres (13 plus feet) to fit a hoist in.. But yours duzn look that high. The old man's one is fukn flash!!! Cheers

Mine is 14 at the peak. I can run the car all the way up as long as the hoist in centered

Grab some 1x1 angle iron and that left over red tin. Build pops a awning over his walk door
