I lived in Negros Occidental for 6 years and routinely went up to Bacolod City, and I don't recall any good Mexican restaurants. As far as Western foods, most were just fast food eateries like McDonalds, KFC, Burger King and Shakey's Pizza. You can usually find more Western foods near Subic & Clark and the capital Manila

I have been planning to visit Bacolod for almost a year now. Of course this is the wrong year for international travel. But I keep hearing that a vaccine is on the way so I might be on my way to the Philippines soon. I have picked out hotels and restaurants that I would like to visit, but I worry that businesses that rely on tourism are in big financial trouble. Hang on Bacolod! Me and my Canadian money are coming as soon as we're able.

Yes brother, don't mind it, but you got to be in the mood to drink that shit...these young guns nowadays love it. I prefer old school cup of traditional tea with a splash of fresh milk only, especially a cup of strong Yorkshire tea anytime. I love my strong latte too but must be done by a professional barista who know their stuff...life is too short to drink shit Starbucks coffee but I give them credit for making ice blended style coffee milkshake, that's all they're good for.

Loved the Japanese restaurant there. I’m glad my husband and I were able to experience the food and clean restaurant. We walked through cracked cemented streets and semi sidewalks that seemed to disappear. It was night time, too and was very dark, there were hardly any street lights at night around the area so as soon as we saw the Japanese restaurant across the street, we went for it. So it seems the private sector of businesses are doing their job to offer excellent restaurants, and stores while the government are building substandard infrastructures like cracked and thinly paved streets… forget providing public street lights. That’s asking for too much from the public and tourists. Maybe the Negresen local leaders can get some ideas from economically expanding Cebu City… oh, and that was 2019, before Covid 19 pandemic.
