I am a couple (well, almost 5) years into my firearm/CCW journey, and I still found this to be extremely informative and helpful. Probably one of the best holster selection videos I've seen, and I've watched a LOT of videos. I went through some very similar steps in the process of picking the right holsters for me, I think everyone does. If I had found this as a new shooter, might have been able to skip a few more and save some more money. I really like that you've documented the reason you made each change, the tips for making each one work, and of course the pros and cons. I'm not a big fan of that blue, but once you explained it, it makes sense. You do you! The fact that they can put together something that customized to your wants is a feature in and of itself. I may be making a video response (are those still a thing?) or an 'inspired by' video based on this. AND, you really helped me decide on my next holster.

I'm 74 and have had guns since I was 12. 4 years military service and 25 years Law Enforcement service. I have owned over 40 pistols in my search for my preferred carry weapon. I've been through about as many holsters also. What I came to understand is that the person has to feel comfortable with the holster. I prefer on the belt at 3 O'Clock and an untucked shirt for concealment. I have a lot of friends who carry and each does so differently. M&P 380 EZ is my preferred pistol and I have a M&P 9c with 12 and 17 round magazines. My holster of choice is the Alien swipe (magnetic retention) holster held tight against my body. You must like what you choose.

Joe average here to thank you very much for making this video. I’m so new in the ccw that I’m at the point of figuring out what location on my waist is best for me and which holster and configuration will work so that I do one of the most important things and that is to carry every day when allowed. In the short 3 months that I’ve researched holsters for my apx compact my first conclusion very much like yours I bought an alien gear 2.0 which I wore around the house and found it to be too much bulk and not very comfortable especially when sitting. I’m currently waiting for a muddy water kydex, one clip w/claw in which they offered me a 14.00 discount and I still think it will work for me however going forward I will heed your experience and use your knowledge to make my deliberations about my holster needs more informed. Truly appreciative I thank you 🙏🏻

I just don't get why you need a concealed carry holster that needs to be so good at re-holstering for most people. Unless you're at the range practicing all the time drawing. Normally my gun never leaves the holster while carrying. And if i do take the gun out i just take my holster out of my pants and put the gun back in.. If i have to use it the last thing i'm going to be worrying about is a quick re-holster but i get why some people worry about it.. Great vid!

Just keep finger off trigger when re-holstering, right? I don't know if any Duty size firearm is comfortable inside the waistband to be fair. There's not a holster out there that will make it comfortable. They're just too big and they are not designed to be carried in the waistband. I would go for a smaller firearm in the summertime and carry outside the waistband in the winter time with a hoodie or something. That is a pretty big firearm and you're adding a light to it. That's a lot of gun to be sticking behind your belt. I know I used to do it. Then I went to the Glock 19 for 20 years. Now I am down to the p365 XL which is perfectly sized for in the waistband concealed carry. It's almost like it's not even there because I'm so used to something significantly bigger

Don't tell me what I will like or dislike. That is NOT your choice. Just stick to giving strait facts. Many people like a wider space between the clips because it distributes the weight over a larger area when carrying a heavier gun. It works. I have used that style for years and LOVE IT.

You know, there are thousands of videos on KZbin giving facts about holsters, and you chose to watch this one. No need to get upset over a difference of opinion. Just express yourself in the comments for those who might appreciate a different perspective or go watch something else from someone you agree with. I for one appreciate a little opinion with my reviews, it gives me a data point for we're he found success and makes it more interesting. I can read facts and written reviews all day, but videos like this get to.th heart of what a lot of us are looking for- a real person's experience from carrying it all day everyday. It's just a sample size of one.

And thank you Michael Brohl.for pointing out why I may want to consider something wider for my heaver setups. Disgruntled as you may be, you make a valid point.
