As a Canadian, i am very happy to be part of the Commonwealth. I am fond of the constitutional monarchy and prefer it to a U.S. system with a president. You never know who is going to represent you then.

It's a volunteer organisation, and no one swears allegiance to any other member. Other than political block, commonwealth provides student scholarships to member nations, develops projects, works with UN in charity, aid, refugee crisis, child and women health. It's like a club. We are bounded by common history. We can't change our historical relationship with other members.
