I follow a few Instagram experts and I have to say Jade your content is always the one I look forward to the most because it’s the most practical and actionable. E.g. As a photographer on instagram, it’s hard for me to find the sweet spot. A few weeks back I posted a reel of a photography style I don’t normally do but the clients asked me to do it. It blew up! When I post anything else that’s actually my style (reels, photos, schedules) it doesn’t get any traction. I appreciate these tips!

I’d say do a mix of both! Do what brings engagement so you gain followers and also do some of your style so people start learning about your style.

As an artist, I was super excited to see Carousels performing better. I stopped posting them almost entirely because my reach was nearly nothing. Posted a low effort one the other day of my sketchbook pages and it performed better than some recent reels. Refreshing to see a balance coming back with content formats. Great vid as always Jade!

I've recently had some good luck with carousels! I do content sharing info about animals, and I started doing creature feature carousels, and my most liked and shared post of all time is one of those posts. Though it seemed to have only worked for about a month or two and now they only do decently well rather than the 3x my usual post performance.

I’ve seen people saying that when you use automation and you have hundreds of people commenting the SAME word, that Instagram doesn’t recognise it as organic engagement anymore. Reels don't work anymore to grow, in at least 10 of my latest reels I check my stats and they're only being shown to followers and 0%-5% non-followers, and carousels are pretty much the same thing. What could you suggest?

If IG count views as very important, then how come sometimes they only show your content to 0-1% of non-followers? For small accounts, this guarantees low views. The content that they show to 99-100% non-followers goes REALLY well by comparison. 😢

I’ve found that if people don’t know you they won’t interact. I’d suggest you engage with other creators and eventually they will do the same. They’ll help carry your engagement until you start finding your community
