I only like the losing the powers if it not the actual power but something they learned. Like when Jude got immune to poison in the Cruel Prince by taking small bits of poison regularly and in book two she wasn't immune anymore because she didn't take it regularly anymore. That kind of made sense and it wasn't totally random.

My gosh I thought I was the only one that had a problem when the guy in books would tell the girl "you're mine". It didn't use to bother me when I was younger, but now as I've wised up every time I see that phrase or something adjacent to it, I grimace so hard. Also the part where the guy's traumatic past is used as an excuse for him to be a dick to her as well as a calling her the "b-word" and objectifying her body (or vice versa) is so despicable to me. My book rating immediately goes down or is getting put down once I see one of those things.

I really agree with you about the way the male pov only talks about the woman boys. I really saw it in the "A Touch of Darkness" Series. The series is from her pov and it seems like a romance from her pov. Then I ready "A Game of Fate" which is the same book but from his pov and he constantly just talks about physical stuff and sexual things he wants to do with her. Like she literally invites him to bake with her since it is one of her passions and he literally there for one minute and is already like "I really hope we wouldn't actually bake and just have sex" and I hate it. He did that all the time. Everytime she did something cute for him or showed him something about Herself he always thinks "Can we skip this and just have sex." The book was not a romance from his pov. I literally skipped their scenes together in his book.
