The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.

The older you get the more you’ve seen which means your brain does not have to process and remember as much information (life feels fast). But when you are young and witnessing new things daily you brain is constantly remembering places and memories which “feels” slow. You just have to do more new things and break up your routine to slow down your perception of time.

"Our house is 7800sq feet, too much for this little vacuum!" That's 724sq meters Dan! That's massive, no wonder your energy bills are high! It is a beautifully built and decorated building and also a well earned investment, respect on that front. Zack should not be sold with the house! For reference, an average home in UK is 1000->1400sq feet (93->130sq/m) and at the top end of that scale is about right for family of 5. A big house is 1600->2000sq feet (150->186sq meters) and the sweet spot is 170sq/meters in my eyes. I can't afford one of those, but I can still dream. Your current home is ace, but if you do move, would you consider building a smaller home next time around, thereby even more eco friendly? It doesn't need to be massive to be nice! Whatever you guys do, pls take us along for the ride where you can!

Ah yes, building a 7,000 sq foot house with a 75 foot pool in the middle of the dessert (Washington Co., Utah), and then being dissatisfied and wanting to build more. How could this go wrong? kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIjTppxnhZ6Wd7s

You broke my heart! You know... IT AMERICA! You must be an Icon. The Gate is no cool. That's not a place where people wants to isolate from each other. If you don't trust police, I don't know.

I don't think it is safe for your piano to be placed on direct light

I suspect it's just a furniture piece, LOL. Mine stays closed and covered when I'm not playing it. Instrument, not furniture. The piano dealer should have told them the basics. Also proper humidity is key (43%)

@@kristenjunker1632 They know about pianos, I think Leslie's or Dan's sister is like a concert pianist or something like that.

A Net Zero home is something you should consider building on the next lot and instead of buying a $20,000 water slide you could have invested that money into a Geothermal system that would provide heating and cooling for your home and possibly for your neighbors as well.

Me first 3 minutes. *the lots are huge they are so huge* the front yard looks as big as a 320m2 block of land in suburban Melbourne which sell for about $250-$300k dollreedoos here in Australia.

This is so far from what any person really needs. It’s a waste of space, energy and resources. Building it twice would be especially irresponsible.

I get why you’re fearful of having people come to your door! Outrageous that anyone would do that! Sad that you would have to move because of that! We have solar too and it is great! We’ve had Dyson for 20 years I think! It’s still amazing all these years later!

As a vacuum expert/collector, you should’ve gotten a hide-a-hose central vac system! All the central vac hoses pull out and retract into the walls so no need to carry them around!👌🏼

I mean, ultimately it’s your decision and the house is awesome. The added protection, if you were to build again, would be beneficial to you and your family. (Look at Roman Atwood and his family, the problems they face, could happen to anyone).
