Carlie, I always like to tell my patients to think of your "due date" more as a "due season." Plus or minus two weeks from the date you're given. It's so easy to fixate on that specific day as when baby is supposed to come. Unless you're scheduled for a c-section we can't 100% guess the exact day baby will arrive. If only we could! It would make all of our lives easier, ha! It is far easier said than done to not fixate on his arrival so what you're going through is completely normal! Sending all the birth vibes your way Mama! You got this!

Carlie, I believe if you plant MINT around the outside perimeter of your home it will prevent spiders, ants, and mice (maybe other things) from entering your home....AND it smells great AND makes yummy mint tea!! :)

Yes, my mother is a master gardener....so yes I know that....but putting it a certain distance apart.....and idk if they have landscaped yet with other plants....they can ask their local greenhouse....but planting something like mint is much healthier than pesticides that is why i suggested it kindly. My mom goes along, not very often, and pulls it out.....or uses it for tea.....or just having it for the nice smell of it....and mowing it will only release the wonderful smell.

And this helps? Great idea. As a family we use the mint leaves a lot. Mint Tea: Prepare green tea, sweeten with your choice of "sweet", I love local (Ohio) honey......wash a bunch of mint and add to glass and poor hot/sweetened tea in and stir....so Yummy. We also dry mint for cooking :)

How much you have progressed is no indicator of when you'll go into labor or how fast you will have the baby. I recommend you stop getting checked until you're in labor :)

Brittany Garza exactly. I showed no progress until 3 days before I went into labor. Was a finger tip dilated and 0% thinned on a Friday had my baby on that Sunday.

You never know what is going to happen. I stopped progressing a week before my due date. Walk a lot go around the block. That's what I did. The day before my due date I started to have contractions only 2 dilated. My hospital told me to come in because I was bleeding. I went in at 11 and only went to 3c at 7. Then I got potocin or however you spell it and it started to help they gave me the needle in the back because I wouldn't stop stressing out even though I wasn't showing it. I had one of those peanuts between my legs and literally at 12am on my due date i was 12c and my water broke... 12:50 am on my due date she was born. Have some faith Carlie. Just keep walking and put pillows between your legs. I'll be praying for you❤❤❤

I will be praying! I can totally relate to the stress you're feeling. I had baby #3 2 months ago, and at my 40 week appointment I still wasn't dilated at all (which was stressful because my blood pressure always gets high when I am pregnant, and I so badly wanted to avoid an induction and all drugs this time)! Just a couple of days later my sweet baby was born. No induction, no drugs, and it was by far my easiest delivery, and I bounced back a lot faster, too. (this isn't meant to tell you you have to do things my way. I just wanted to share with the hope that it might encourage you!)

oh, I also meant to say that I shared this story to show that dilation isn't always the best indicator of when your body is ready for labor. You never know, you could go from where you are to fully dilated in a matter of hours.

Okay, a few things: First and foremost, Carlie don't feel guilty you're a wonderful mother and I know Cooper understands why you can't be there but the baskets are sweet as all get out! 2nd: oh my gosh, YES I am the same way as Jackson to the point it drives me crazy!! Third: well if Elliot comes the 10th he'll be born on my grandmother's birthday while the 12th will be my mom's! Either way it's so soon!!! Please don't stress hunny!!! Your body knows what it's doing. Worst case, induction, I know you didn't have a good experience with that last time with cooper but u will do anything to be able to hold little Elliot in your arms. I'm going to be induced in 10 days and I'm literally freaking out. Being a first time mom I feel like I'm gonna be all butterfingers! Plus unfortunately the dad isn't in the picture so I'm gonna be doing pretty much everything on my own. I know you and your family is going to be fantastic in just a few days or weeks. I had heard Chinese food puts you into labor so when I was pregnant and 2 weeks overdue, I had Chinese food for lunch. My water broke the next day. And I ended up with a 10 pounder! He was cooking in there a little to long! Best wishes to your family for a healthy baby!

Don't worry about it Carly, he will come when he comes. For my first 2 there were no signs that they were coming when the doc checked me and I had both early (first at 36w6d and 2nd at 37w0d). With my 3rd the doctor kept telling me she wouldn't see me the next week and I was passed 2 days overdue when she came. Baby knows when it's time :) and I am sure all will be well for you!

Carlie due dates are always an estimate. I know you want him here but don't stress about it, let him stay in there as long as he can. I just had my son at 11 days over due and he came out 100% perfectly happy and healthy. I don't advise waiting much longer than that but a few days over is perfectly normal. to get things going do lots of walking and squatting and hip rotations on the big exercise ball and have lots of rough sex!!

The end is so hard! I walked around at 4cm and 90% for three weeks and he was still two weeks late! It was so miserable and nobody can understand the stress unless they're a mom who's been there. Hey Carlie! I loved the video. I think it is beautiful that your husband likes to cook your dinners and ginuenly wants your mark of approval on what he is feeding you and Baby E. I was a little worried seeing the grill so close to the house... speaking from experience, the heat comming off that grill can Warp your siding on your house. It happened to me and was an expensive fix. you might have Jackson pull it away from the side of the home when grilling. love you guys!

Have you and Jackson watched the documentary "The Business of Being Born?" I am from Canada and I am not sure if you get it, but it's on Netflix. I know he doesn't believe in home births which is completely a preference, but there's tons of information on the benefits of a completely unmediated natural birth (as long as both mom and baby are healthy). I know you've mentioned you've struggled with post-partum and you are scared for this time around. I definitely think it's got lots of information. It is one-sided but for sure an eye-opener. I am only mentioning this to help ease your mind about stressing so much about making progress, and being checked and bummed out that you aren't were you want to be. Pregnancy IS hard, but Elliot will be here so soon!

Glad you got your ear checked out. My Aunt had a spot and it WAS cancerous and they removed that part of the tip of her ear. Since.. I had 4 kids and I ALWAYS put sunscreen on their ears. I never realized that's sooo prone to being burned.

I know the boys will probably have some healthy food for tournament...but healthy snacks are the best andyou can teach your kids to think they are cool. I love to teach kids...great impulse snack choices...nut mixes, dried fruit, raw fruit on the road. carrots and hummus or celery and hummus at home. I just want to see Cooper have the best chances at a fully life with all the energy and health that he deserves :)

I had a skin check this year and there were no areas that I could see or feel but my doc had me put chemo cream on my chest and shoulders. My chest had many tiny spots and my shoulder had a pretty good sized one. So glad I did it! Next is my upper back 😬

Guys, babies will come when they are ready and they may just surprise you. For my first son I had a check on a Friday, was told I had zero progress towards labour and had at least two weeks in my OB's opinion. Went into labour the next night and he was born that following Monday morning. The OB was shocked! lol
