I agree with Nick about the assessment of the Chiefs. I think the pushback from others is because of Patriots' syndrome. Everyone loves a winner, till they don't.

Exactly. The media loved the Chiefs in 2019 and 2020 but they've grown tired of it. It's exactly like the Patriots in 2015-16.
@realitycheck24827 күн бұрын
Everyone loved the chiefs with tyreek hill because the greatness was believable. It was a challenge to try and out score a high flying offensive team. People don’t like them now (same reason people hated the patriots) because they don’t seem to win consistently based on any type of talent. It’s close games until the refs make a call or 3 that go in their favor despite what we see with our eyes in every other game not featuring the chiefs. People hated the patriots not because of the players, it was the refs that had their back in every critical moment to allow them seemingly unlimited opportunities to be great. Now the chiefs are afforded unlimited opportunities by the refs. We all see it. We all highlight it. Other teams have bad calls get highlighted by social media when it happens also. It’s just not every single week like the chiefs. And when bad calls happen in other games, the national media singles out these calls as horrible. When it’s the chiefs benefiting from calls they get glossed over and “explained” with definitions of rules that have never been brought up in any other teams game where the same exact thing happens. 🤷♂️ So it’s not just “haters” we want to see real winners not selected winners
@donsnow80397 күн бұрын
@realitycheck2482 This isn't true. First of all, statistically, the Chiefs don't get a great whistle. The Chiefs ALWAYS get highlighted for their calls. It's been a thing for years now. Remember people being up in arms over the PI in the Eagles SB even though the DEFENDER said it was the right call? You're right. They're not blowing teams out anymore, so it's leading to close games. One thing that is true is that the Chiefs execute better later in games than everyone else, just like the Pats did, and when you execute well, things tend to go in your favor. Fans just don't like dominance. When the Warriors broke out in 2015, everyone loved them. Then when they ran the league they became the villains. Now that the dynasty is over people don't hate them.

I think the MVP could be “fixed” by weighting each position based on their value relative to their position. For example, as Nick stated, Saquan is having an all-time great season, but even an all-time great RB season is roughly equal to a good QB season due intrinsic positional value. It doesn’t make sense to compare apples to oranges. Compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges. If that were the system, D-lineman, even O-lineman, could win the award. As it stands, QBs don’t have to outperform their peers, especially at other positions, or outperform historical precedence to win the award. Every other position has to essentially have the best season ever (at their position) to even be considered. The award should either be a QB only award or the award’s definition should be adjusted to reflect relative positional value. Unfortunately, having Saquan win this year would be a contradiction. It is impossible for him, any RB, or any other position other than QB, to literally be the most valuable player.
@oblivionpro698 күн бұрын
Yea, if only there was an award we could hand out to recognize an offensive player having an unbelievable year, even when we know they aren’t actually the most “valuable” player in the league. They could call it “offensive player of the year” or something.

@oblivionpro697 күн бұрын
@@dedrickhill2238 No I don't. The only solution is to call Roger Goodell and tell him to change the game so that the QB position isn't way more important than every other. Until then, the award that goes to the "Most Valuable Player" simply has to go to a QB until another position somehow finds a way to be more valuable than a top QB, which I get is almost impossible.... It's the way it is.

Barkley is not the MVP because he has an all-star roster surrounding him. You cant say Barkley is the MVP of a team that was in the Superbowl 2 years ago with largely the same roster. Barkley's season performance this year is the exact reason OPotY awards exist. Roster, recent team success, record, and stats... A combination ofnall of these things need to be considered. Giving Barkley the MVP is basically saying "Stats are what deternines the MVP". In which case we might as well just change the name of the award to "Most Impressive Stats" award.

There are reports that the Raiders love Penix and were willing to go as high as 6 to go get him. If the Falcons don’t sign Kirk then Vegas knows they need a QB so they’re desperate to get in front of Atlanta 2. Sitting a rookie QB regularly proves to be more beneficial than not.

Lamar won last year because that team dominated great teams. Josh Allen is 2-2 vs teams with winning records. But more than that, there just wasn’t a better option last year. I think Saquon’s season this year would have won it last year. My take is that if he breaks the record he should take it and if not sure Josh can have it

He actually made the same argument against Lamar last year. He said Christian Mcafrey should win it so your Lamar point is pointless. I don’t get why u Josh Allen fanboys hate Lamar so much it’s so weird. Just say you think Josh should win it and keep it moving

If Josh doesn’t win it just come out and say they’ll never give it to him. First he threw to many INT’s he cut that down now it’s his stats aren’t good enough. No matter what he does they’ll just move the goal post again.

the mental gymnastics are non stop and constant goal post moving... its pretty impressive; not one word last year about lamars garbage stats

Nick hates Bo Nix so much that he will refuse to talk about one of the best games of the season. 😂

I like how we all need to do these mental gymnastics now to discredit Allen and to find ways to not give him the MVP.... very good nick.... very good.... at least your consistent

To be fair if we are talking accolades and bigger games played Purdy has done more in that perspective then Josh Allen

SHOCKED!!!!!!! Nick is Not Making MVP Case For Mahomes....He Keeps Him at TOP of The Mountain Each Week No Matter How Bad He Plays so Why Not Just Clamor For MVP Too?

Besides the Chiefs delusional takes, I feel like I can finally enjoy Nick Wright. Because he ended his Josh Allen hatred and jealousy, and is finally honest with himself about it. He now knows Josh Allen is the best QB in the NFL and will surpass Mahomes in the long run. Maybe not in SB trophies, but that’s more of a coaching accomplishment not a Quarterback one

L TAKE😂 how will Josh surpass Mahomes when he can’t even beat mahomes in the playoffs! You’re clearly a bills fans with your own bias delusion just like Nick.

What Chiefs take of his has been delusional?

people call his Chiefs takes "delusional"..... i didn't realize how stupid it was to believe in back to back Super Bowl Champs 🙄 i'm not even a Chiefs fan but people seriously gotta get over this lol

So why did lamar win the mvp last year when he had pedestrian numbers? its going to be funny the narrative surrounding saquon now since josh is the one that may win mvp.... always moving the goal posts to discredit allen....
@ratio95958 күн бұрын
Easy, Lamar shouldn’t have won last year. The voters just infantilize him cuz media was mean about him playing poorly as a QB early in his career. The fact that he received more votes than Mahomes did when he had the second best season as a QB ever, is proof of that.
@chopin1975-tq3gx8 күн бұрын
@@ratio9595 it really is crazy how personal feelings get involved; they really need to adopt how mlb and nba vote for mvp and use analytics.... they never will though; this sport has the dumbest people

nick is proving he has no football knowledge. mahomes throws 2 ints and under 200 yards in a win, and nick acts like hes mvp.... . bo does it and my god hes just the worse qb ever!
@mattcarberry3688 күн бұрын
not even Nick is saying Mahomes is the MVP, and not even Nick says Bo is the worst QB ever you're so desperate to hate on Nick for his supposed bias, that you literally just invent stuff to yell about so you can blindly type out some anti-Nick comments fishing for cheap likes from other haters.... yall are so transparent, it's lame
