I tried their ultra hold cream and gel at the end of last year and didn’t have the best experience but I did hear good things about using their heavy hold gel and foam together in this order: some ultra hold gel, their foam and then some more of the ultra hold gel on top. That’s a popular combo that they used in their marketing.

I clicked on this video so fast when I got the notification! I thought I was the only one who didn't have a good experience with the Curl Mix products. I'm still a member of the Facebook group and the ppl on there absolutely swear by these products! I tried both the original line (lavender scent/light-med hold) and the new Masters Collection (ultra hold/quinoa) since my hair does not do well with castor oil. My experience with both was the same...TERRIBLE, which was so disappointing since I wanted to love the products like everybody else seems to. Both times my hair had zero definition and was sooooo dry and rough feeling. I had to wash it out right away and do my hair all.over again. I think my hair just doesn't like these kinds of botanical gels. I'll just stick with my Kinky Curly products.

I like the way your hair looks with the products. I was similar to you in years ago I picked the lavender line and did not like the results. A few months ago I tried the heavy hold moisturizer and flaxseed gel for 3 weeks and liked the results much better than the lavender days. I threw away the lavender products but will be keeping the heavy hold. I haven’t tried the foam.

Hey Kayla! You know I love me some curlmix. Yes if you try it again add a topper like ENBBA or ecoslay Jell-O shot. I think your hair needs more especially with your properties and climate. Use the foam in the middle of the process No moisturizer, flaxseed gel, foam and ENBBA or ecoslay Jell-O shot. Or Flaxseed gel with ENBBA or a topper like jello shot And thanks for the shout out 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I tried the heavy hold twice with innersense ICH as a topper and both times it flakes. I will try it again without a topper Iam just afraid it wont hold my hair. However I did get tons of definition and I loved how my hair for bigger the days but still was defined.

I'll been using curlmix for about 6 years. I get good results . I have loose textured high porosity low density hair. I use other brands, too. I like the gel the best and their serums. You have beauty hair regardless.

I’d love to see you try the ultra hold line! I’ve been going back and forth about trying curlmix but I’m allergic to castor oil so I’d likely lean towards getting the ultra hold since it doesn’t have it.

@@WhatTheKinkyeah a nettle and a castor allergy, it makes it tough finding products sometimes but I’ve been getting lucky with newer products that don’t contain them.

I tried the heavy hold gel with enbba naturals as a topper and I surprisingly loved it! The hold and finish is similar to the Kinky curly system + enbba (firm + flexible). Are you willing to try the Trepadora hair care brand? It’s vegan, they now ship from the US and they are having an anniversary sale tomorrow!

The set with foam on day 3 was so beautiful. I've been curious yet nervous about this brand. The products are not cheap, and if i can only get a few days out of it... dunno. I have a lot of Ulta points so I may pick some up at the end of the year to try it out. Do you think your hair felt softer with or without the foam? Lately I've been learning more towards touchably soft hair.

I think it was softer with the foam. Maximize them points and purchase when these go on sale. They just recently went on sale for 30% off in an Ulta-wide sale.

My Ulta doesn't carry CM products which I find interesting since I live in the DMV area (DC, MD, VA).
