As a waitress, in my early 20's, I will never forget the time two years ago when I had a customer behave so rudely to me because I put their order in wrong and somebody had put sweet tea in the regular tea pitcher that I used. Like I was crying in the freezer over the things this man yelled at me, embarrassing me in public like that. I will never forget the couple next to that table who asked for the manager at the host stand to come to my aid and speak up for me. I will never forget that. If you're questioning whether or not you should do something about something that makes you uncomfortable, do it. It will most likely have a great impact on the life of the person you are helping.

@bryndyperez81236 жыл бұрын
Well Iris should.be respected as a person. Being elderly doesn't give anyone the right to be disrespectful to anyone. Thinking otherwise.is stupid. The elderly woman should be respected as a customer, but if she can't respect the worker as a worker than that elderly woman should be set straight.
@LindaTuttleat11406 жыл бұрын
Iris la Faille Sweetie no matter the age you never deserve to be treated with disrespect. For years I worked for a grocery store. I only lost my cool once and she was old enough to be my grandmother! I almost called the police on her. The witch threw a package of raw chicken at my face. I forget her reason now. I never will the way people stood up for me. She was lifetime banned from the store. I may have been 18 - 19. I refuse to say the customer is always right however I know there's always two sides. Hold your head high and just smile and keep them wondering ♡ people know who cares and who is only there for the $$

Sorry buddy not every high paying job hires 16 year olds. Clearly this woman was trying to get ahead in life and at her age and as a high school student, being a cashier was an appropriate job. And since when did gender play a role in this conversation? I clearly mentioned that a rude elderly lady should be put in her place if she's ever rude to a worker. Perhaps you should start reading more books to better your comprehension. With a comprehension level like yours, you wouldn't even score into a college level English class.

If the waiter is having issues remembering orders, maybe he should consider looking into a different job. Not because of age, just because his memory isn't as good as it used to be. The customer was so out of line, though. Be patient and polite with your waiter, you're lucky he keeps on trying. Some waiters may get fed up and not wait for you anymore, so you're lucky the waiter you got is working hard. It's okay to be upset that he got your order wrong, but don't lash out at him. That may be but I've witnessed more of the other way around that elderly being obnoxious to young people just for being old and they think that they have the right to say/do everything. Of course I'm not saying everyone but a lot more then you should think. Every coin has two sides. If you want my respect then treat me with respect and I don't give a damn about what your age are because then you have earned my respect.
@lc75926 жыл бұрын
Per-Ivar Sandbæk Exactly, most young people don’t bother the elderly and are considerate. A lot of elderly people take advantage of their age and they get away with many things. For example, I work at a restaurant and some elderly people always try to get things for free. They make a $15 order but want us to give a $7 dish to them no cost

Jett Green I see where you're coming from. But usually for me, if someone messes up my order, I'll be thinking, oh no not again. But in his case, he's throwing insults at the waiter and poking fun at his age and everything. That's what he's doing wrong. I worked as a Waitress during my high school and whenever I messed up people's order, people usually just told me that it was okay and that they're glad I informed. That's what he should've done. I know not everyone will have the patience, but sometimes it's all about respect. I'm sure half of the people who told me it was okay and that they're glad I informed are not entirely pleased with the situation, but it's the mutual respect that counts.

The actor playing the waiter seemed so sweet. I felt so bad for him. I wanted to give him a hug.
