Nah her brain was definitely believing him but she was trying her absolute best not to, hence why she kept saying he's lying. If she really didn't believe him at all, then she wouldn't have been getting so worked up. It's like when someone informs you of something terrible that happened that is closely related to you, and your response is "No, you're lying, that's not true" etc. Your brain is trying to convince itself that there's no way that could be the case, as a coping mechanism.
