Wheathampstead, where is that?

Wheathampstead is a quaint chocolate box village in Hertfordshire. As I venture out and have some me time, I explore the two churches and other historical buildings that are clustered around the River Lea. Ohhhh, must not forget about feeding the ducks.

Thank you. I grew up there. I started school in that old flint school. We walked in a crocodile of children holding hands across to St.Helen's church for hymns. I miss Wheat.std. even though it's changed loads and there's no one there now who I'd know, or who'd know me. My parents grave is in the churchyard. I love watching new posts about Wheathampstead.

I was born and raised in Wheathampstead and like you went to the old flint school

@@mikebroomfield8947 I left Wheathampstead Secondary school in 1976. I've lived the last 30 yrs in Wales but I still get homesick for Wheathampstead. I've only been back twice, for my parents funerals. They're in the churchyard in a double grave.

Revisited the village last Monday, lots and lots of great memories there. Its a fabulous place to live even though some of the pubs have now closed. I also attended the old flint school and secondary school which has sadly been knocked down! Claire, we probably know each other, I stayed on to 6th form and left in 78.
