I used to bowfish for gar at the pedestrian bridge on the Arkansas River in Tulsa Oklahoma. I would get 5 to 10 a day. Biggest one ever was 42 in and weighed 18lbs. But can't anymore since they shut the whole bridge down for construction. Anyone know of another great place to bowfish close by Tulsa Oklahoma?

Yes sir. You will want to check regulations cause there will be some water where it is not allowed, but most state parks and lakes you shouldn't have a problem. just the visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife website to read up on all the bowfishing regulations in the state. Thanks for watching

@hondacrx78298 ай бұрын
Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzbin.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

Just depends on how big a boy r ya lol. You would just have to try. Start with a 20-30 if 40 is uncomfortable. It really doesn't take that much to stick a fish. I just like having mine set higher cause I will also fish a lot of clear water where the extra poundage can help with deeper shooting. Thanks for watching.

I really don't get the point of bowfishing gar... They're not that good eating from what I've heard and their roe is toxic. Also none of those fish are anywhere near trophy size really and it practically just kills them. What's the point? (other than it being fun because it looks like fun). My logic is if you don't eat it and it's not invasive don't kill it :/. I stand corrected if you actually eat it though since I've never tried gar.
@YawehthedragondogofEL6 жыл бұрын
gar is delicious if you soak it in salt water for 24 hours first. cleaning is easy with tin snips, you don't even have to gut it so now worries about the eggs being poisonous.
