If I ever did a tandem flight I’d want it to be with Kyle . The man landed Safe with no wheel and motor problems ! Awesome sauce 🔝

From watching your videos for a few years now I have really taken on board the safety while flying. Always have a bail out option. And as demonstrated here, it makes that a common mistake that everybody will make at some point ends up as a bit embarassing and not a funeral. Thank you Kyle.

Great video Kyle! Showing how easy it is to make a mistake. Telling us how it happened and not actually trying to blame it on the UPS man. Heck he probably had no idea what you were even working on when he walked up to you. Way to remain calm and handle the situation as it unfolded. As always thanks for sharing the videos with us all and blessings to you and your family brother.

First Todd Falstad and now Kyle O lost a wheel? I'm gonna go out to the shop right now and check all 3 of my wheels to make sure they are still on 😄

My very first lesson in weight shift trikes that happened, (long story) but fortunately landed safely and was hooked for another 400 hours. My landing was about as uneventful as yours. Fortunately!

I watched a wheel fall off a Piper Cherokee and called Quartz Hill Airport. The Manager didn’t believe me, but when a lady called and said that a wheel landed in her front yard, he believed. The pilot was contacted and the tower at John Wayne airport confirmed it. The landing made the news that evening.

In climbing they always say if someone's doing something safety critical, like tying in, you shouldn't speak to them and they shouldn't let anyone speak to them. Humans have a tendency to overlook things when context switching. People have died from just forgetting to finish tying their knots bc they got distracted.

Perhaps a left handed reverse thread on that left wheel might have prevented that??? Maybe?

Idk shit just happens sometimes, I lost the right wheel on a mountainside last week. Should be the self tightening side but it was the first side to work loose.

Kyle, I think you are a very good instructor and have really have benefited from your videos, but we are all human. When you said you had motor problems on the previous flight and then took another passenger up without being confident you had corrected the initial problem, that was a BIG mistake. Good piloting but poor preflight and decision making, when you are risking someone else's safety. Thank you for posting this as what I hope, should be a cautionary tale on how to keep from contributing to an "Accident Chain" that could have been avoided.

We had all been working on the machine together. Passenger was well aware of the issues. The thing is, his safety was never truly compromised. We had a safe landing available the entire flight. Furthermore, I did do a solo test flight just before this one, and didn't experience the motor issues. There is an old saying goes like this, "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst"

Wheels are overrated. Ask any caveman or foot launch pilot. Loctite is a thing.... My trike has set screw in the axle to help, altho it wouldnt help if I didnt tighten it. Thanks for another vid, but I am not sure yuo can take credit for having the worst content. CLose, but not quite...

Awesome conent, keeping things real and showing us that's is perfectly fine to make mistakes so as long as we learn something 👍
