I recently purchased a new aftermarket axles (I know OEM is ideal) and OEM flanges however, when I tried to dry test fit them the flanges wouldn't even budge. Is it just I haven't applied grease to the mating surfaces? Is it usually an extremely tight fit until greased, or did I probably just get the wrong axle?

With new OEM front drive shaft and hub flange, they fit like "hand in a glove". No grease needed to dry/test fit. Cost at around $350 ea, it is so worth going with new OEM. If you then keep bearing and snap ring properly serviced, they'y last for 100's of thousands of miles of normal road use.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll try adding a little grease and test fitting again, but looking like I may need to return these axles.

@@Acekg1911 I'd return for sure. FDS is one part it doesn't pay to go aftermarket in the long run. Look around you'll find OEM for ~$350 to $380 to your door.

How do I replace the hub flange studs ?

You can buy a stud tool. Or thread on two nuts, and tighten them together. Put your wrench on bottom nut to remove and top nut to install. Then remove nuts.
