That original video shoulda told ya when the man said 3/8ths instead of 3/4, but he failed to mention you need a 12 point. Stepups and step downs 3/4 is 19mm.

Some of those spline sockets are 6 point and some are 7 point aswell, so a hex or a 12 socket wont work. But you can buy just the spline sockets if you know the size you need.

It is just math. 3/4 of an inch is exactly 19.05 mm. So they are pretty much interchangeable.

The point of the original video is that a regular 19mm would work on a spline lug nut not just a hexagonal lug nut

Depends on socket quality, lug nut quality, tolerance and torque needed to loosen the fastener. Heating both componenets can help. Gently heating. If you heat the lug stud through the nut you are working against youself.

Yes, this is accurate. 17mm for the 12x1.5 lugs and 19mm for the 14x1.5 lugs. Those lugs were designed as Small Diameter lug nuts for tuner wheels that had a tiny hole for yhe wheel stud. They were never intended to be used as a wheel lock. The same company that sells those lugs also sell actual wheel locks with a coded key. My opinion is that wheel locks often lock out the owner of the wheels more than it does the thieves. I used to charge $25.00 per lock to remove if you lost your key. Nobody has ever replaced a wheel lock I removed, with another lock. They always put a stock lug back on.

Chrome ones however you can use a 19mm or 3/4 but 9 times out of 10 it sticks in the socket because it’s not the actual right lug tool

I pound pieces of the wire in those little gaps in between the lugs and the round end of my wrench.. and Bob's your auntie.. only needed to pound in two and it gave me enough bite to break the lugs. When the guy was holding a 3/4 inch impact socket and said it was a 3/8 impact socket should tell you this will fail miserably. In the guys defense though he may have been referring to the drive size for his 3/4 socket. The socket looks like a 1/2 inch drive to me but looking at it on camera I cant say definitively that its a 1/2 inch drive. But if you are trying to extract a wheel lock without the key to match the lock pattern. Best way is a turbo/extractor socket. Your going to need some power also. 3/8 drive probably wont cut the mustard. Cornwell Turbo Lug lock removal sockets are the best way to go if you lost your wheel lock key.
