I did notice that Rob's hosting style seemed to change somewhat during his last few months on deck. Notice how he was no longer "getting to know the contestants when they had their inaugural spin of the wheel" during his blue letter-board swan-song run?

Not anymore. The ratings took a dive in 2004 following Steve Oemcke’s appointment as host after Rob Elliott walked. So badly that Channel Seven rested it for 2005. It returned in 2006 but lasted only 6 months before Seven cancelled it. Channel Nine tried to revive it in 2008 but it was cancelled after 5 weeks.
