Wheelchair Dance - Taking the Leap

UW-Whitewater's dance program introduced a new dance class specifically designed for sit-down (wheelchair) and stand-up dancers. According to theater and dance professor Barbara Grubel, this is the first class of its kind in the UW System.

What a beautiful gift to give- movement, Grace, flow. Precious commodities to a wheelchair bound individual. I hope to someday have an opportunity to train with such a teacher.

I LOVE THIS! I teach line dancing and I have a community of peers and friends that are in wheelchairs. I would love to be able to hold adaptive classes and this just brought a few tears of joy to my eyes to watch. What a beautiful video to start me on my journey of inclusion research. I wish everyone would take a little time to develop ways to include differently-abled people into many more activities! Awesome instructor, impressive class.... (I've always said differently, because I've always told my son, you can do anything, you just may have to find a different way, one that works perfectly for you). Never Stop!! 💜
