I just received this one in the mail opened it up and damn it's like operating an old-fashioned submarine with all these dials. Instructions are not so clear thank you for making this video. I'm going to try it on a panic TP9 first and then try and tackle the front sight on my XD 40 from 2006 which is notoriously difficult to do local gun shop said they refused to do it because it broke their last sight tool. If I do one site it'll pay for itself. I was able to get the rear sight of the XD 40 done with a vice and a tap tool I could not budge the front. I'll post a reply what happens.

I'm a certified gunsmith and Licensed FFL dealer. I have several different sight pushers I have tried over time. This sight pusher is the best one yet I have tried. Works perfectly for 1911 front sights. It's very well made and also works great for micro slides. So fat works on every style and make I've had to install sights on

Excellent. Unlike other videos regarding the Wheeler, Gun Bench gets it right re alignment of the slide and taping the slide to prevent any tool marks. The S&W M&P's sights are very tight (a good thing) and I've found that a drop of penetrating oil on the sight base makes it easier to both remove and install new sights. I would also recommend cleaning the sight grooves with a q-tip before installing the new sights.

if you were willing to modify the pusher, you could weld a socket on to the push screw to allow you to use a ratchet wrench. it wouldnt even interfere with the existing levers.

Thank you Sir..it was a very helpful video/tutorial for me. I had to change the sights on a Beretta 92 (impossible to do with a puncher) and this tool did the trick for me.

Great content. Thanks for the demonstration. I don't need to do this very often, but enough that I wish I had a tool to assist. I was about to get the "blue" one from Amazon until I noticed this one from Wheeler. Your video convinced me to give it a try.

M & P Rear Sight removal. I notice that you are applying the force above and behind the dovetail. Does that cause any problems seating the sight???

Should've gotten the Glock sight tool by Real Avid. It's about half the price and couldn't be a better tool for the job, seeing as it's made for Glock sights.

Would you suggest one siding the lower adjustments to make sure there's no possibility for the force to back the opposite side you're pushing towards out?

Have you done any 1911 sights? I understand SA has some pretty tight machine fit on their 1911's. I've considered purchasing a sight pusher, just didn't want to spend on a minimal use tool to me. I have a Garrison and an XDm. Both have sights I have not been happy with but trained around and modified with paint. The rear gets blacked and the fronts Orange or choice of color. They are just too small and narrow. I don't feel the need to change sights more than once or twice. The cost is tough when I could buy what 5 rounds for that? LOL Seriously though it looks like a good tool if I could justify the break even cost. My favorite Local Gun Smith charges about $35 to do this. To point out other examples. An AR15 armorers tool, Glock sight tool, and various files. These tools were purchased for essentially one time use. I'll keep an eye out for a good sale price. The knock off models look competitive with lower cost ones looking to be poor execution of function. Good Vid! Great information on this.

Do you find that when your putting on a sight that the Pusher Block tilts up and you have to set up up lower to keep it from sliding off? My Pusher Block isn't tight on the tool it has some up and down movement. Is that normal with yours also? Good video and thanks.

I like using the outside flat face of the pusher for front sight posts or tough rear sights
@thereturningshadow

One thing concerns me abot this tool. It says universal for all pistol types but by looking at how you slide just fit right into the lower part of the front sight because you have a short distance on your frame where the recoil spring is at. Many handguns have a longer distance and that bottom part of the frame will make the slide sit higher at the front than at the back when in the tool even with all four set screws snugged. And also that means if you place the bottom of the slide, at the rails part where it goes on the gun frame, is flat on the bottom of the tool lower, ten the front of the slide will stick out further and the pusher block will not line up with the sights.

Why cant the manufacturers make the clamp pads out of plastic or rubber instead of metal so thatvyou dont have to use painters masking tape to protect the slide from scratches. RIDICULOUS

The hand crank mechanism is weak, the pushing block would cant when pushing the sight. This pusher is great for Glocks but nothing else. I found this expensive and pretty useless.

How do you know if the slide is square to the dovetail? How do you know if the pusher block is not going to scrape the bluing off the top of the slide? All of the issues you have with this pusher, vice cutouts, with torque and slide lift, alignment, etc, in a professional setting, will cost you and piss off your customers... In the time it took just to align the slide and get every thing set up, I would have already been done with the job with the MGW Sight Pro which is made in America by gun owners.

Well why don't you make your own video on the MGW instead of beating the Gun Bench up? He isn't claiming the Wheeler is the only tool out there, just the one he is using at the time.
