My local swimming pool has a Chlorine alarm tied into a Fire-Lite voice evac system. NAs are System Sensor L-series speaker strobes including some weatherproof advances outside, in the indoor pool, and shower area.

Chlorine alarms normally would be triggered by a sensor, because people who would pull a manual alarm would already be experiencing severe distress or death. There's a similar type of alarm for HVAC systems using ammonia-based vapor cycles (in some very large chillers) that is sensor-activated.

I have a question regarding that Wheelock RSSA: I was looking at it on eBay, and there’s a sticker that says something like “not to be used as a public notification appliance”. Does that mean that it can’t be used for a general non-fire emergency in a public setting?

Very interesting use of the alert strobe and TrueAlert speaker! I have seen a similar setup to this but instead of a chlorine/chemical alarm, it was for an emergency shutdown. Also by the shutdown pull station was a 270 SPO, but it was special since it was branded by EST and General Electric

Awesome system test. Love the chlorine hazmat alert system. I have a suggestion for the next system test, firstly install that co2 system release pull station. And see if you can program a custom voice message to indicate the discharge of the co2 fire extinguishing system. Just like you did with the hazmat system.

also with voice alarms u can do something like attention an accident was reportet at Sector x (sectoring the plant) potential hazards: [read out potential hazards] and if needed Evacuation Advised cause based on dangers it could mean that workers that a not close wouldnt need to evacuate in some cases

Love this system. If this was a real system, you would probably want to make the tones for the two messages a little more different from each other so that people don’t get confused. Also, I believe that tone for the fire message was used on the very early 4100u’s before they switched to the modern tone.

That’s what the voice evacuation is for, it helps people not be confused, and also helps people know where and why to evacuate the building.

One of the scariest things that ever happened to me is: I was at a swimming pool playing with my friends and there was a door that went into a room with a big machine in it and all of a sudden when me and my friends were at the other end of the pool we saw yellow vapor come out under the door, but we just thought they were spray painting something but then the alarm went off and we evacuated. (Idk why they had chlorine gas in a pool)

I have just watched this on KZbin for the first time today and after watching a clip from an episode of the Big Bang Theory, towards the end where Sheldon and Raj are having some "Office War" and making an experiment with hydrogen sulfide gas for "Pest Control", along with cinnamon apple-flavored aromatherapy scented candles which BTW is highly flammable, but it's on a set and not in real life. I'm surprised the bird isn't harmed and in real life it would have been picked up by the smoke detectors, sending a signal to the control panel which would activate the building's fire alarm system, the whole room would be on fire and either one could have gotten kicked out and arrested for almost burning down the University; just imagine that being on their records FOR LIFE. Aside from that, just out of curiosity, could you please do another one of these S.E.R safety videos and see how your system setup would work in either a gas or carbon monoxide leak and you would have to alert people to evacuate or move them to fresh air? For example, "Attention. Attention. A gas leak or carbon monoxide alarm has been reported. All occupants walk to the nearest stairway exit and walk down to your assigned re-entry floor or main lobby. Do not use the elevators. Do not use the elevators. Walk to the nearest stairway."
