The captivating mountain biking trails and picturesque wilderness of Valle Maira, Italy attracted Stefan Eberharter, Sylvia Leimgruber, and Francesco Drago with their promise of exciting flow trails and endless peaks. However, after spending evenings sharing food and bottles of wine with the locals, they discovered something even more rewarding: a community that prioritizes the preservation of their environment over the lure of mass tourism. During their week-long stay, they rode the best trails, immersed themselves in the local culture, and learned about the efforts of trail developers, advocates of sustainable tourism, and residents who work tirelessly to keep their small mountain community thriving year-round.
