I just recently found Matt and the museum and have been binge watching for the past 3 weeks because, although I love bikes (H/D's) I feel like such a fraud for a couple of reasons. First i'm a Journeyman Toolmaker (from Danbury Connecticut). Second I moved to Atlanta and lived there for 27 years. All of the people I know in the shops in and around the south are all about Bikes (not that it a territorial thing, but it is a machine shop thing). And for me I've never been in a situation (living or finial) where a bike would be practical. soooo..... I've just been given a "...MASTERS CLASS..." on bikes Thank you Matt !!!

I did have a bunch of bikes growing up ..mini-bikes, Rupp's, Chibbi's, YZ's, XR-500R, KTM 495 ...(I couldn't sell that thing fast enough because I DIDN'T WANT TO DIE) !!! But I did work with a guy that had a 48 Hydra-Glide dresser ..and that was it !!! I was hooked !!! I love springers too, Beach handlebars, FAT BOYS !!! But like I said, I just been given a masters class of the American Motorcycle history as well as a big insight to Dale and Matt's story, soooo...... thanks' for that !!!!

As a American and getting older. I see the beauty in theses bikes. My tastes have changed initially I was obsessed with speed and sport bikes Japanese European. That was in my 20s now in my 30s all I could think about is Harleys and Indians. I wanna thank both you guys. for helping preserve this history. I fell into what you guys were saying I took a job based on the money and it’s easier said than done to walk away from it. I really want to do some thing in this industry thinking about it just gets me emotional. There’s something about two wheels and a roaring engine in between your legs that really make you feel alive. Hopefully one day I could make it over to Wheels In time. Thank God that there are people like this in the world and thank you. 🥲

Thanks Ken for taking the time to bring content from places that some of us aren’t close enough to visit (YET). A lot of people on the west coast don’t understand how much history of the sport we Love has been painstakingly preserved for future generations, your knowledge and enthusiasm for Motorcycle’s of all types shows as your eyes light up and it’s hard for you to even get inside because we may miss something cool on the perimeter. Keep on showing the world how motorcycles help keep a family strong and connected for many generations! GOD BLESS YOU! Ps: Ken Jr. was railing in Daytona SX track!

I rode "the rattler" the day I visited that museum a few years ago. Not as congested as the dragon. You can really enjoy that road. That area has some of the best street bike roads I've ever been on and I live and ride in the Ohio river Valley in West Virginia for a reason, but the North Carolina and Tennessee back roads are great.

Mr. Kaplan how absolutely awsome great and outstanding that Dale's legacy is so beautifully preserved and in such great hands by teaching his son all that he has?!?!!! I'm so so so excited and happy that we wont miss a step after the much much to early passing of the great Dale Walksner!!! Sometimes great things get lost when the originator dies because there isnt someone to take over but in Wheels through time we wont have that problem!!! YAHOO!!! YEAH!!!! Also its very cool to me because I'm a little too young but I'm from the northern suburbs of Chicago just like Dale was and I know of guys who worked on bikes with Dale and rode bikes with Dale but it was many many years ago!!! When harley was passing out dealerships for the Chicago region it was that damned Barry Brown that made it real hard for anyone to get a nice sized dealership real close to the city and youd have to if you were going to make any real big money selling harleys and most far out suburban Harley dealerships really struggled to make ends meet and I'd imagine Dale has really good years but struggled alot of years? That Barry Brown is old as hell now and retired but your in the business so you can probaly find out about him?? He owned and ran Chicago Harley and was the number one first harley dealer in Chicago and for that he had a relationship with the big boys in Milwaukee that made things really hard on other dealerships. Ask Matt about him because I would assume his dad had some choice words for Barry Brown owner of Chicago Harley like almost all the other guys did!!!

Absolutely awesome Ken. Beautiful Museum beautiful location. And a very worthy cause. Because it seems today that a lot of the younger generation just doesn't really care about motorcycling anymore. But as long as us older dogs are still alive we will still be loving it. And trying to inspire a few younger ones along the way.

Jeez I would watch Dale's videos without really knowing his background but I'd look at him and say to myself boy I think I know this guy Dale?, well I was from a little bit south of Vernon hills but if Dale was known to be the youngest dealer then he definitely knew Barry Brown the owner of Chicago Harley and Barry in his later years did the huge dealership right next to a major highway in Northbrook Il right off of Willow road. It might of been Glenview Il well Matt was right because that huge dealership failed and is gone. Listen to Matt!!!

Me and my buddy helped Dale hold up a big old steel pole while he bolted it down. It was for some sort of sign that was in July of 02 before the museum was officially open. It was my first trip to NC on my Road King. For giving him a hand he gave us a personal tour around the place. He told us nearly every bike in the place ran and he started a old Harley for us. He was a super nice guy. We were sad to hear he passed. Im trying to plan a trip back down there this summer to see how the museum transformed.

Barber is an enormous modern building with many beautifully restored bikes and cars throughout history and is a must see. BUT Wheels Through Time is in a whole different category! It captures the SOLE of the motorcycle! You really see the history and how it has left a permanent imprint on all of us throughout history, You feel it as soon as you step through the doors. It’s truly an epic display of the American Motorcycle History.
