Whelen, WPS 4008, Siren, Attack/Wail Plano, TX

It's hard to believe these rotating sirens in Plano have been replaced with Whelen 2910 multidirectional sirens. Plano still uses the ATTACK tone for both tests and actual warnings.

Why did they replace these with 2910’s? Surely it has to be something about age but there’s plenty of sirens from the 50’s still in use across the country.

Montecat 33: I had to go back to school. I filmed these sirens on cristmas break. I have more videos to come, I just didn’t have a chance to upload all of them today. After I have all of them uploaded, it will be a few months before I upload another video

Adam Carter: my camera didn’t record anything at MicKinney. It just completely stopped working. EVEN THOUGH it was fully charged. The rotation in the siren was broken at MicKinney.
