The rule about grabbing the gloves in mma is pretty annoying. I get that it would be cheap to just hold onto the glove to prevent a choke, but at the same time, being told you can't touch the glove makes it very difficult to defend chokes, because sometimes you need to peel the opponent's hand off of you to get control of the arm/wrist. It's not as if the gloves make it that much easier to pull their hand away, but they pretty much can't do it at all just because the rules effectively say they can't grab hands.

Agreed! Fuck BJJ! It is the least effective defensive system outside of an Octagon and requires rules to allow it to gain the upper hand when in use. If you look up the amount of times the Gracie’s cheated or “changed the rules” to favour the grapplers, it should be obvious.

Certain techniques are better for MMA gage fights. It all depends on the rules. A lot of things are not allowed (example grabbing gloves or the cage etc) which makes certain techniques more suited to cage fights. A shaolin monk has to fight within the rules which is a disadvantage whereas styles like jujitsu, wrestling and kickboxing are the best because they focus on MMA rules !
@organichotdog3807 Жыл бұрын
Grabbing gloves or the cage is a sign of desperation. No fighting style promotes that. That's survival street fight stuff. The better fighter won - that's all.

@organichotdog3807 Жыл бұрын
@@peironepablo Respectfully, I understand that. But every sport has rules. If the banned tactics will save your live on the street, I'm all for it. But if BJJ tactics put a fighter at a disadvantage in MMA, maybe don't get into the ring. If I'm a black belt in taekwondo, I probably would not get into a regular boxing ring knowing that I couldn't throw any kicks.

Never lock ur or a legs with a person on ur back.. I understand that move .he was trying to do. He locked his legs to stand defend but was standing to long . U have actually"fall sit " and press him to cage with ur back .. defend the rest of it until ur comfortable in twisting around. When u locked a leg ur neck becomes exposed as u stand ... he took the side u locked . If u can grab both gloves and fall sit. The refhas to call it. Sneakily put ur head under his chin & Fall straight down. Grabbing is arms as well.. Ref has to call it. The judo twist not good to try. I do get it work.but.. Because the rules allow the foe to leg wrap you n strike n as well.. it best fall sit with ur head under his chin.. even if the foe move his head, u can twist and take top position or back to ur feet standing .or just stall which will create standing reset.

He's had training in a Shaolin Temple, which anyone can go for, but he is far from a bona-fide warrior monk. That takes at least 2 decades of hard practice. This man Xie has great potential but let's not get it confused with what true warrior monks are capable of.

Now I know this may not be at best interest to all but just look at what jujitsu and Muay Thai have done for their art forms. Xie has so much takedown defense that it worked against him, his stat was like around 90%? I think it was? For TDD but you can see how desperate he becomes when taken to the ground, he's a really good striker but he really need to polish his ground defense, even if he cannot master grappling maybe after this fight they should at least train him to be more comfortable on the ground and at least know how to defend and properly explode out of grappling situations
