@@rastraman1 Considering Salvatore pulled Drizzt out of his ass as a sidekick during a conversation with one of his editors, Drizzt has had a damn good run. Drizzt's conception was one of the best stories Salvatore told when I met him at a signing. Wulfgar was supposed to be the MC of 'The Crystal Shard', but he didn't take off like Drizzt did. I was already ranger main in AD&D when the first book came out. Forgotten Realms was my preferred play setting (Greyhawk and Dragonlance just couldn't seem to compare). In my eyes, for the first time, a ranger was the main character of the story - because Wulfgar was just so god-damn bland that he pretty much HAD to be backseat to Drizzt. Back then, finding good ranger representation in AD&D stories was like finding a needle in a dozen haystacks. It seemed like everyone and their brother wanted barbarians, wizards, paladins, and bards as their MCs then. Even the Harpers series failed me in that respect. Going beyond that, if it hadn't been for Salvatore's work concerning Drizzt, the Underdark wouldn't be NEARLY as fleshed out as it is now. Drizzt's popularity made people want to explore the potential of the Underdark as a setting. Lolth was kind of a faceless figure - all we really knew before was that she was a demonic drow female with a spider fetish. Going further still, the other cultures of dark elves wouldn't have been fleshed out, such as Eilistrae'e and her priesthood. I can't recall his name off the top of my head, but there was a drow god for the drow males who hated being under the heels of their matrons, sisters, and wives. Additional work went into the setting for the duergar and svirfneblin. No longer were they just kind of faceless potential hazards in the Underdark. They suddenly had established and named cities with pantheons of gods, too. Dislike him all you want, but Drizzt's creation and his subsequent popularity made WOTC really dig into the lore of the Underdark.

I mean, we already know thanks to that DnD oneshot BG3 cast did. Shadowheart is thirsty for Drizzt even if she didn't recognize who he is, just saw a very pretty drow, Astarion shrieks and immediately goes "OMG, it's Drizzt Do'Urden, I'm a big fan", Karlach admires him as a big noble hero, and Gale, surprisingly, or maybe not, isn't impressed at all. I don't know much about D&D. I've picked up following you guys from my late boyfriend who was a huge D&D fan, and I stayed for the brilliant production quality and lovable characters. Fireball? Fireball!!!! So you see I've tried to take part in a single D&D campaign out of curiosity. My dearest was a noble Drow Rogue, Re Ha'vindark, who fled the Underdark to escape his family. He also wielded dual scimitars. He wore sunglasses cause the light was always too much, but otherwise he was a Drow-Drow, spiders, torture, Lolth. He also loved to compose songs and braid his fellow travellers' hair while sitting around the campfire at nighttime. You see Re Ha'vindark was fabulous in every way. My character was an Aasimar druid, a creature of virtue, an outsider, with an insatiable drive for pleasures of the body. She was the one that knew how to take what nature had and turn it into magical stuff. And she had a panther as a familiar! Her name was Gwyn'rhenna. And I just want to say, I LOVE DRIZZT. I know he's in the actual lore and I just learned of him today but he's like the perfect mashup of me and my late love's characters! I love it.

Gotta say epic work here. I can imagine keeping Drizzt Do'Urden alive and well in any upcoming adventures you all will have together. Drizzt has always been one of my top book characters and to see him live and breath was a dream come true. I so would love to see the IceWindDale Trilogy and his other adventures come to a tv series or movies done right.

This is, by far, my favorite episode!!! I started playing AD&D in 5th grade, in 1982(yes, I’m that old), and have been a massive fan of Drizzt, since the Crystal Shard first came out(Can you believe that Wulfgar was the character R.A. Salvatore initially intended to base the series on?!? Thank goodness that he came to his senses!!!). I always worried that if he was ever brought to live action, it wouldn’t do him justice (Especially now, with Wokeness systematically destroying every male, legacy, character, to promote inferior, generic, girl boss characters.), but you guys totally nailed it, even to the point of making Guenwhyvar look real. I can’t possibly give you enough praise, for how great a job you’ve done!!! Thank you for respecting the character, the lore, and bringing one of the greatest fantasy characters ever written, to life.
