It's time for one of the most ambitious mods in Hearts of Iron 4.
It's the end of Prussia but a beginning for Germany.

Anyways Tommy is back to HOI4 Mod Review and he's going to be reviewing a HOI4 Mod with the most potential and that lasts almost 200 years.
The mod is called End of a New Beginning and it starts in the Victorian Era aka 1800s. It's basically Victoria 2 in Hearts of Iron 4.
But yes this could literally be one of the best mods in HOI4, yet literally no one talks about it or has mentioned it for a while now.
He's going to be playing one of the most overpowered countries in this mod and that is Prussia which has so many focuses for different ways you can go on about uniting Germany.
And you always know that a German + Prussia is an interesting combo.
Nonetheless this is what happens when Tommy plays Prussia in HOI4 End of a New Beginning Mod!

Yeah sorry to break it to you but no one is gonna play up to 2050 in HOI4 unless they are actually mentally insane. I dont mean this in a bad way btw, its good to be ambitious but too much is too much, I mean it could technically work if you added different starting eras but no one is going to play one HOI4 game for 200 ingame years.

The problem with Tommy wanting the ai to be more difficult lies in the historic premise of the mod. Prussia absolutely trashed Denmark in 1864, as well as Austria and France because of General Multke.

I definitely agree that this mod needs to focus on 1 era first. Of course they can go into the modern/future era when they want to but they need a solid base line. If you go alt history in the Victorian era you shouldn’t be forced into the same World war/modern era setups later in the game, so you need to develop new entirely fictional wars and scenarios for if you decide to empower and improve a weaker nation like China or the Ottomans.

I like how Prussia actually goes over to observe the American Civil War because they actually do that in real life. They were obviously planning German Unification at this point as well but it's cool to see that in the game. Also the Prussian's had criticized American tactics and the only notable part of the war to them was the terrain.

I agree with tommy here. They should first focus on the victorian era. But one thing is bothering me. Hoi4 was meant to be only for ww2 and not 100 years. They have to replace the time/day with only days like in every other paradox game because it will be very slow and laggy.

This mod is honestly really good. The overhaul starts in such an interesting time period which can allow for some really off the wall alt history. The main issue with the mod is that the HOI4 engine isn’t made for such an ambitious project and the mod will often suffer from intense lag that even the best computers will struggle with. Another core problem is that the mod doesn’t reconfigure HOI4 ai to be able to handle the intense politics of the Victorian age. Apart from these issues, this mod is very good and as a early supporter I can say that this mod can do some very great things for this game.

Just by watching Tommy, I was stressed myself. The developers did an amazing job that is correct, but it is too complex. It can scare away players, like me. Edit: Stop flexing about how good you are and how "Hoi4 is actually too simple! You should have seen hoi3/hoi2!". I don't care. And that wasn't even my point.

funny thing about the "I inveted blitz krieg a little bit early" part. The tactic the prussian used agains austria was called blitz krieg (the idea was to defeat your enemy so hard they capitualte emeidatly) so no tommy you just invented blitz krieg when it was invented
