Similar case happen with me, and that time i was living in delhi for my higher education, and my parents were there in jharkhand, and same thing they told to my parents, and demanded ₹100000, and my parents were totally shocked after hearing this, and they immediately call me but unfortunately the exact time i was taking my coaching classes and not pickup the phone for almost 2 hours, and they were completely shaken after once myself not answering their calls, but after their continous trial i pick up their call and they started crying and said beta kah hoo tum, i told mai coaching mai huu, then only they have taken their breathe of relief.... . This call is so typical to a call my father received some time back. He received a whatsapp call too, and the profile picture had an image of a police officer. He told my father that I'm in police custody because of raping/harrassing a girl. What made the matter worse for my parents was that I wasn't beside them at the time of the call, so they started panicking and called me multiple times. I was shocked to hear such an accusation, honestly. I was so disturbed. It all felt so real. But as some time passed by, with some reasoning and cross-questioning, I was able to put the pieces together and realise it was all a scam. Additionally, that person never called my father again. Such calls are becoming more and more common these days. This father's composure is truly commendable though, something that's not readily available.

Me & my sister received a similar normal call from normal number (that doesn't seems like scammer), They said, 'आप के पापा ने हमे 10k भेजा हैं, आप को भेज ने के लिए', and later that exact number's sms pops up of amount credited..... I too had a call from the same county code ..saying cbi police! I irritated that guy so much he cut the call

I received similar call 3 months ago and he said he was from Kashmir, he used fake photo from facebook. I knew it was a scam. But silly part was I am not even married but he said my son is in jail.😂😅
