I must say Nick, you got INCREDIBLY lucky to get back to Bedford that quickly after a signal failure on a branch line when you were at a station with no facilities. I would say this video went extremely lucky!

A delay of between 30 and 59 minutes gets you a refund of 50% of the ticket price, so 33p.

Kempston Hardwick is set to be the main station location for Universat Studios Great Gritain, which is currently in the discussion and planning phase.

Enjoyable video as usual Nick, regardless of the problems! I understand your feelings about cancelled trains, as I have had problems myself! I once had a train show on the screen as being delayed and then disappear from the screen without explanation, only for the train to turn up

I travelled the line last week using an East Midlands 3in7 Rover ticket, most of the stations are in the middle of nowhere, my only stop off was Fenny Stratford.

It's frustrating when there is an issue, but at least you got to visit a couple of the stations. The village of Strwartby is worth a visit if you visit the area again. It has a nice town hall, although very little is left of the old brickworks now

Still enjoyable no matter what. Any day out can turn into an adventure that wasn't foreseen, such is life. Thanks for showing that the so called ' mundane' is in fact very interesting, ie obscure stations and EMU/DMU sets.

Marston Vale line really can't seem to catch a break. Whether its other TOC cast-offs breaking down or the ill-fated Vivarail 230s, there always seems to be something stopping it operating as it should.

Brilliant video Nick, I'm very sorry to hear your plans for the Marston vale line went out of the window, at least you got out of the area and wern't stranded there for ages (I've heard LNWR aren't always the best at helping passengers out of disruption). Nice to see the Pullman at Bedford though.

That the luck on these adventures, sometimes it can go perfect or a load of drama happens. I would say it wasn't a waste of a trip but it does suck that it was cut short, great video.

Living in Bedford I can tell you know you went the long way to St Johns station. Also they are cancelling trains almost every day!

I ventured to Bedford on saturday.... it was the temporary St Pancras, end of the line. All the Intercitys finished up there. it was crazy day for travelling 50 minute journey to london became a 2 hour chug

I noticed you went to Bedford via EMR. For me, it was really expensive via Bedford. I went in LNWR via Bletchley and it was £34.50, no railcard, return (London Terminals > Bletchley via WMT + Marston Vale Line discount ticket), with 2 people, with the £1 discount, which is cheap (for me) By the way, tickets gonback to normal on the 19th of May

inearly got stuck in ridgmont for 2 hours, but actually, i just about got on a train ages ago qhich out me 10 minutes forward for the whole trip and was able to get in a train, even though it went in the wrong direction, it didnt matter because i was going to ginto bedford then back to bletchley anyway but i just couldnt do the trip to Bedford

I hate spring. Where I live, in spring, it alternates between being blindingly sunny and boiling hot, and being extremely bitterly cold, freezing, windy, and hailstones, if you wear warm clothes you'll be overheated half the time if you wear cooler clothes you'll be freezing cold half the time, sometimes it has a bitterly icy cold feezing wind that nearly blows you into traffic and boiling hot sun rays so you feel hot and cold at the same time. I hate spring. Probably my least favourite season. Then again it never snows in winter here, so winters aren't that bad if I live somewhere that had blizzards in winter like Oslo or Chicago or somewhere that has 40 degree summers like Texas, Spain, Greece, or southern Italy, I'd probably have a different opinion...
