I always imagine an extreme mode where the parents run faster than the player who is in normal speed, a sound bar where if exceeded can immediately alert the parents. Even the dog can bark on sight of the player, attracting attention and chase them. Another thing would be checking the attic when the player is in it and a hiding place in some corner to not be visible. Don't know if it's too excessive, but there can be electric barrier wire built on the boundary side to make it more difficult to jump onto the hay. There can be two main locks instead of just one number door password and there can also be random checks as in, they won't announce or use words, just barge in without warning at 50/50 rate. Worse case, there can be certain traps placed such that if triggered, could cause death or grab attention.
