5:19 Hippos are the one of the most dangerous animals in Africa. What makes it even more terrifying is their canine teeth which can grow up to a foot long. They never stop growing and self sharpen by rubbing against each other. Their jaws can open 4 feet wide and snap closed with a force of almost 1 ton. Enough to snap a crocodile in two. As you can see in clips like this, they can scare away most other animals, but some like elephants win with mass.

Absolutely true. In fact hippos, along with crocodiles, kill more people in Africa every year than all other animals *combined,* and that includes lions and leopards.

If a lion gets kicked by a giraffe or zebra, in the mouth, and it's jaw breaks, it is pretty much done, and will starve to death. There is no doctors in the wild African plains.
