Syria never aided in the invasion of Iraq and it was never asked to do so. The objective of this meeting was to further isolate Saddam from receiving any aid or diplomatic support. The invasion was well worth it. Great swift overthrow of a genocidal dictator and we put a democratic government in charge of Iraq which is still in power today and they still have elections
@tylerclayton6081
@tylerclayton6081 3 күн бұрын
@@TinLeadHammer Iraq was not invaded because of 9/11, it was invaded due to intelligence that suggested Saddam wanted to build ICBM’s. And that he had already begun doing so. That intelligence ended up being wrong but the invasion was still well worth it. End result is Saddam overthrown, and a moderate democratic government in charge of Iraq

@AdistuffRBX Being the first major country in Europe to introduce a system of democracy doesn’t absolve Britain of its historical wrongdoings. Democracy didn’t extend to the millions of people under colonial rule who had no say in their governance. As for apologizing, there are still ongoing debates about the lack of accountability and reparations for events like the transatlantic slave trade, exploitation during colonialism, and atrocities committed in places like India, Kenya, and Ireland. Acknowledging history isn’t about dismissing progress, but about being honest about the full picture.
