Yes! I've been pulling for Nathan all along. I think what the showrunner, writers, et. al don't understand about their viewers is that it was the Mountie character that made us fall in love with the show. He was central to the story so to see a saloon owner/gambler sweep in and put the moves on Elizabeth was a departure from the whole premise of the show. It was completely thoughtless.

This episode was so good! Absolutely loved it! The love story Alfonso Moreno was telling in Seasons 6 and 7 is finally back on track! Erin and Kevin will really bring it this season and I’m here for it!

There is nothing epic about it. They were never an item until the new writer decided she preferred Nathan over Lucas. There trying to push this great love story that was never there. Elizabeth even told Nathan she was not in love with him and it was the truth. The great love was Elizabeth and Lucas.

She was told by the HM execs and co-creators that she was hired to break up Lucas & Elizabeth and then get Nathan & Elizabeth together romantic as a couple! She was an employee following her employers direction for WCTH. Kavan Smith (Lee) said WCTH was almost canceled. HM execs are probably the ones who made the decision for the switch and told the co-creators to find a showrunners who will write a good story for Elizabeth and Nathan Nathan. By the way, the co-creators made sure there were plenty of signs it was Nathan Elizabeth was in love with even in JT's seasons 8 & 9. The signs were there. Actually if we are honest, and not just team Lucas or team Nathan the co-creators had signs it could be Elizabeth and Nathan. They never let JT completely run away that it was Lucas. For example, Elizabeth book Elise a widowed single mother married a mountie. Elizabeth was showing her feelings for Nathan with her book in S9!!!!!! Mei asked Faith if the mountie in Elizabeth's book was about Jack or Nathan. Well, it was about Nathan! 😂 ❤ Elizabeth also had deeper conversations and connection with Nathan as a "friend" even though she dated & then was engaged to Lucas. Lucas & Elizabeth's relationship was very shallow & surface level. The grand gestures Lucas did got dull after awhile with no substance to Lucas & Elizabeth's relationship. The kissing definitely got dull & boring since that is all they had! All Lucas did was trying to wine & dine Elizabeth with out any serious relationship no substance. So, the network lost many viewers and the demo numbers were so poor in S9 that WCTH was almost canceled. That was why HM & the WCTH co-creators had Elizabeth & Nathan get together romantically! To bring the viewers back to make the demo numbers great once again! 😂❤ Well, Hallmark's plan worked! They got the viewers back the demo numbers that are important for marketing/advertising that's the age group advertising targets with their commercials. Demo numbers are important to Hallmark because that's how they make money. That's why WCTH was almost canceled after S9 poor demo numbers. The demo age group is 18-49 year olds & that age group preferred Nathan & Elizabeth together romantically. ❤ So, Hallmark fixed the story with showrunner LS hired + consultant AM & JT was let go after S9. Elizabeth talked to Nathan about her late husband, Jack (that's significant she couldn't talk to the person she was engaged to about J but she talked to N- huge clue) When it came to advise about her son, Jack Jr. Elizabeth never asked Lucas for advise. Elizabeth always sought out advice from Nathan when it came to Jack Jr. You could see in Nathan & Elizabeth friendship their deep relationship that they would probably become a couple!❤ Plus Nathan has the better personality. Yes, in S6 you could see that he was very quiet & just did is job. That was because of him taking his job so serious & the real reason he was serious was because of the main reason he came to HV to support & protect a fallen mountie's wife & child, a mountie who had taken his post at FC when Hargraves transfered Nathan to Fort Simpson. 💔 Nathan in his own way grieved Jack too as their is a brotherhood in law enforcement even though the two mounties didn't know each other personally. So, in the beginning we saw Nathan's personality best through his relationship with Allie. Then he became closest to Bill as they worked together. Then he did what he came to HV to do support & protect Elizabeth & Jack Jr. But, as it turned out as Nathan got to know Elizabeth talking about each others kids and just doing life together Nathan fell in love with Elizabeth. It is just something that was genuine. It was something that happened completely unplanned. Elizabeth also ended up falling in love with Nathan. Literally, whether you are team Nathan or team Lucas or just team Elizabeth make the best decision for Elizabeth, if you are honest the co-creators made sure they had plenty of clues it could be Nathan or Lucas in S6-S10, so yes in S11 Elizabeth said to Nathan she was in love with him. Also the co-creators made sure to keep Lucas' past vague so they coould bring it up again. Lucas came to HV mysterious, hiding things not opening up about his past at all. Bill asked Lucas,"this that here and there, what are you hiding?" Sherrif Bill even thought Lucas could be a criminal all before Constable Nathan Grant was at his post in HV then Nathan was suspicious of Lucas' questions mysterious past too! So, I knew the co-creators made it be vague on purpose & it would be most likely come up again. I knew the show runners wouldn't ignore it forever. We didn't know enough about the widowed Jeanette that was very vague. All we knew is she was a widow who worked for the treasurey department super vague. Also, just because she had an apparent honest job didn't mean she was a good person. 😆 A criminal can have an honest job and be doing criminal things at the same time. Both can be true. As a criminal has to get caught for their illegal activities first. Also, every criminal could have been an honest person that had a honest life working in the treasurey department or whatever until the person who may have had straddled the lines of right or wrong doing questionable things, but nothing illegal until one day that person did decide to do their first crime becoming a criminal. Yes, then Jeanette it looks like did plenty of criminal activities now since watching S10 & S11. Now the mounties caught her & Jeanette went to prison. I cannot wait to see what Randall & Rosemary as reporters dig up on Governor Bouchard's past because right now that is still vague & can be explored more in S12. ❤😊 This show was actually written really well if your honest & more team Hope Valley rather than being team Lucas or team Nathan. By the way, I think Chris does the mysterious man hiding things with a past best. I always liked the Lucas character as a mysterious Saloon Owner and I like Lucas as Governors Bouchard now with his past catching up with him at end of S10 & all of S11. Can't wait to see what happens with Lucas in S12! Will Lucas be able to remain governor or will people in the territory turn on Governor Bouchard after articles come out about his past? I love Erin Krakow, Kevin McGarry, and Chris McNally. They are all great actors. It looks like Lindsay was hired to get Nathan and Elizabeth together. Now Lucas will have a new life in CC and visit HV sometimes. Lucas is still an important character because Lindsay built a CC set according to an interview. I'm actually hoping since there is so much to explore that Chris' as the character Lucas gets his own spin off show. We see Governor Bouchard working in CC. We see Lucas creating a new life in CC away from work a personal life meeting new friends & maybe hanging out with a couple of old ones. I think Henry will work for Governor Bouchard. Will Lee work for Governor Bouchard? At S11, episode 12 Lucss asked Lee to come work for him in CC. Will Lee say yes? If so, Lee, Rosemary, and Goldie might move to CC. That would really upset Elizabeth who wants to live next door to her best friend, if this senerio happens. 😂 😢 But honestly I can see the co-creators giving us two shows to make both TL and TN happy. Maybe WCTH S12 is a transition season showing both HV with Elizabeth & Nathan & the rest of the HV community. Then we see Lucas' new life with Lucas & Henry in CC maybe Lee+ Rosemary & new cast. Then we get WCTH:S13 with Elizabeth & Nathan story maybe married + the blended family and the rest of the HV community. Then we get a spin off show WCTH: CC with Lucas story & the rest of the cast in CC. I want to see Lucas work as governor. His new personal life. Lucas visit HV sometimes. Constable Grant visit CC working for Governor Bouchard or working in the territory ever once in awhile since apparently the governor is the mounties boss! 😂 (they made it more like the U.S. not accurate to Canada & the true mounties probably a HM decision as this is a U.S. company. 😂) )

Back to watching again now that the storyline is coming back around to match the book. I think Elizabeth and Nathan will be wonderful together and can't wait to see their "great love" evolve!

Not even Erin can explain the choice of safe love to explain Elizabeth's relationship with Lucas without it seeming dirty and ugly. Lucas never wanted a castle, he wanted a home, that life there with Elizabeth, a family, but I don't even care anymore, because I don't want Elizabeth with Lucas anymore. She became disgusting to me. I am sorry, it is what it is.

I don't find her so much disgusting as I find her to be a drip. I fast-forward through her scenes. The utterly idiotic line "I'm glad we can be friends" is the laziest, most asinine bit of writing to come along since a typical conversation on "Three's Company". I didn't care about her and Lucas, either, and only find Nathan to be a version of Barney Fife, without the incompetence and bullet holes in the floor. They're bland, boring and a lazily created couple. She's into safe, so I guess Nathan has to direct traffic, right? Yawn, either way.

Lucas gave her the option to go to Nathan when he let her go at her house and she chased after Lucas instead. She told Nathan she wasn't in love with him. She should stop giving these interviews. It’s driving viewers away. The first 3 minutes were so cringe. It was painful to watch her try to come up with a reason to trash the last 5 years of stories. If anyone at Hallmark is paying attention to the ratings decline each week . They need to put a NDA in place for the actors to stop giving interviews like these .
