Thank you Marc, I'm glad you feel that way :). The moment before an object pops out is indeed very exciting. I also like the anticipation, shortly before I turn the detector on. One could say that it becomes routine after a while - not for me, it's equally exciting each time. Have a great day.

Hello Zelda, thank you very much for your comment. Some of the coins came out pretty nice. The "yellow" coin was my favorite this time. I found another one lately, but after it dried out, the surface disappeared completely. It's best to keep all finds moist, until the cleaning part. Another lesson learned... Have a great day & stay safe as well.

:D Thank you Andy, I need new shirts for all those buttons. I wish I could show how I found the pipe cap, because this was really something. As you could see, the top of the cap was missing. This was the tip where a giant rock was sitting. If not for the small rock inside, the cap would be squashed. Have a great day!

Hello Francesca, thank you very much for your comment. My theory is: the watch fell to the ground at some point, but someone stepped on it later (that's when the glass broke). I loved the watch, it came as a huge surprise. Have a great day!

Vo ist der bonnhauf bitte? I think its perfect logic. They battery capacity has changed over the years. Better batteries, better coil conductivity. The watch was a stunning find. I bet its over 70 years old. Nice day to hunt. Give the assistants my hugs.
@MetalDetecting243 жыл бұрын
Ha ha, yes perfect, I could ask the question in the village. Fortunately I found the exit. I had problems with both batteries since the beginning. Both of my white "HF" (High Frequency) coils charged sometimes for hours, but showed often only 1/3 of charge, or even stopped working right after, at the beginning of the next outing. The last time I used the second battery, it showed 100% of charge at home, but quit working after a few minutes in the woods. You can probably imagine my frustration after a long walk. I guess, the quality control was just not good enough. I hope the new coil will never quit on me in the field. I will forward the hugs to my assistants, thank you!

You found the wonderful watch at the edge of a “fairy ring” of mushrooms. Lots of fairy rings in those woods. I think the line of mushrooms must indicate the wind direction to carry the spores. I have avoided getting a cell phone because, as you said, everyone constantly stares at theirs. Besides, I don’t need one because everyone else has one and can answer things for me if I am in a hurry to know😀

That watch was so odd, out there all by itself. Very nice find indeed. That big bit you thought might be shrapnel towards the beginning, looked a lot like a meteorite. Of course you only gave brief view, but if so, could be worth big 💰...that was huge.✌️😎

Thank you very much, the watch felt indeed totally out of place. I'm pretty sure the "meteorite" was man made and I believe having found similar pieces before. I'm just not sure what it is. Binaural mike working well. Please make the final forest sounds level (during the finds at the end) higher. I wish the carrot was louder! Nice watch, not the first you have found like this. A very popular type. Yes late 1800's.

Thank you for watching and the suggestion. I will have to wait for spring to record new (better) audio of birds. I will also try to make my pinpointer louder. I stuffed the tiny speaker with modeling clay a few years ago, now it's difficult to get it out. I already "increased" the volume a bit, but it's not enough and I'm aware of it (especially on windy days, or in places with other background noises). I'll try to disassemble it again. Have a great day.

@MetalDetecting243 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for watching. I will have to see some real world tests first. I made too many detector purchases in the past, with some decisions I really regret. This unit is very expensive, therefore I would have to see some real advantages over the previous model first (and even then I would have to think about it) . For some reason places are detect are very clean, they seldom indicate presence of people over a longer period of time. In this case one could say that some of them have been working together at this place, but that's probably about it - they probably left home after. Finds I make are usually from someone who was probably there just like me, for several hours max. Greetings to Oz.

Hello, great hunting! The pocket watch is between 1895-1920 (the wind is on it - it is not a key-wind). It is a small, so it was a ladies pocket watch. For the origin/brand, you should open it from behind to see the letters in the case and the hallmarks. If it has a (.800) mark, it is from Germany or Switzerland. Otherwise, it is from France. These 3 countries had these kinds of watches, with same dials and cases. If it is impossible to open the back of the case, there is one hallmark in the frond side of the case, over the number 12 of the dial, do you looking it? I see it, but I can't focus, usually French pocket watches had there a hallmark "poincon crabe", but doesn't look to fit, it looks more like the Swiss silver hallmark "groose" (i cant see well). (Also, my opinion is to remove the broken glass)
@MetalDetecting243 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you very much for the info. I wasn't even trying to unscrew the back, because I was too afraid, something might break. Should I open it, I will show an update in the beginning of one of the future videos. Judging for the outside the inside must be in good shape, what makes me a little bit more curious too. I will think about the glass as well. Right now it has more symbolic/"historical" value for me in its current state, as it shows the damage as possible outcome of some action (although it could also be the result of someone (not connected to the situation) stepping on it. I wish you a great day.

I have wondered if he researches the areas or just picks some woods and looks for himself. As many places must be waiting to be found. 👍🙂
@MetalDetecting243 жыл бұрын
Hello, it's often a spontaneous decision, based on Google satellite map. I also try to make sure, there aren't any archaeological spots that could be out of limit (to be sure that I don't stumble upon accidentally). If it's clean, I visit the area with some ideas, but make the final decision when I'm there (based on my intuition and the impression of the terrain, something that is difficult/impossible to make at home).
@MetalDetecting243 жыл бұрын
Hello Lee, please look at my answer above. You are right, I prefer not to know too much. Infos about older roads etc. could influence and subconsciously "overrule" my decisions once in the field. Following the intuition turned out to work best for me.

Thank you, hmm, I thought I showed many shots of the area this time. I tried a wider camera angle lately and although it captured more of the image/area (which was my intention), the digging part seemed to suffer a bit (due to longer distance, which somehow felt a little more disconnected). I switched back because of it...

Moin!
@MetalDetecting243 жыл бұрын
