When Collections Meet Decks!

I remember that Princess and the Frog book very much! I have thought about it so much over the years - and the dress and that drawing - her beauty and her cruel treatment of the frog. I remember feeling that sensation of her hot tears rolling down her face as she struggled to swallow her food getting stuck in her throat as she ate her dinner feeling so hard done by. Both feeling her experience and also witnessing it and her selfish behaviour... I wish I knew where my childhood copy was XXx

im 54 also ( in New Zealand), and I had quite the collection of ladybirds myself back in the day....loved this so much!!! I had so many of these same books and agree...I spent hours absorbing the stories and images and I still do recall them at times. Rumplestiltskin had the biggest impact on me.......what a mysterious figure!

I’m in my 40’s and I too remember those Ladybird books! Thankfully my mum has kept all of mine (along with her and my other fairytale books) and I am so grateful that she has. What a great idea for a tag and I love your choices 💖. I can’t wait to see all of the responses to this one! Lovely video. I'm 55 years old and remember ladybird books. I had the beneath the oak tarot, which I gave away. I didn't vibe with it. I felt that the girl being in so many cards was unnecessary. Also the girl has her sight restored in the World card which I didn't quite like as I think that it could be interpreted as negative in some perspectives. I've recently received the witches garden which I really like but I feel that judgement, devil didn't fit into a witch themed deck. I'm waiting for the green witch tarot as I much prefer the judgement, devil card in this deck.

The art in those Ladybird books (especially Beauty and the Beast) is SO stunning. I'd love a Tarot made of that art curated. ❤ Goblin Market is the perfect match for the Rumpelstiltskin energy!!!! "Beauty and the Beast" was first published in 1740. I've always thought the author, Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve, might have taken the storyline from the Greek myth of Persephone and Demeter. She replaced the mother figure with a father figure but it's fundamentally the same story -- even the captives being allowed to go out (or up) to go and see their parent. Just a thought. I enjoyed the video, Candy, and very much look forward to seeing other people's collections of things. Thank you for sharing.
