The first one with the ladder in the trunk is actually legal. Depending on how long it was. And usually she would have to make sure the ladder was attached to the car, and tie a rag or something on it so others would have a better chance of seeing it. That being said, if I ever had to transport something, I'd be sure to take the back roads.
