as someone who has read this specific article I was so excited when you sat down at that computer, the jumpscare was so satisfying. I hope we get to see more SCP games like this, yeah the og containment breach was great, but I want to see stuff from the lesser known articles. I'd love to see something involving the church of the broken god, that technically wouldn't even need to be horror, you could make it a job simulator type game about agmenting people with cybernetic enhancement and maintaining anomalous machinery. or maybe we could see something from Alagadda or anything from the Kaktusverse. there are so many unique scp articles that aren't just "big spooky monster", I'd love to see an SCP detective game, or maybe on of those cryptid hunting games where you play as an MTF agent trying to search for and capture anomalies. imagine a portal style game where you're a researcher doing experiments on anomalies, imagine a game about the red artefact that leads to another world. we've barely even scratched the surface of SCP games.

@xislomega242 The thing is, the Foundation never classifies anomalies on a level of harmfulness, but a level of containment. For example, a button that, when pressed, kills all living things on Earth is considered "safe", whereas a teleporting cloud that spreads peace and happiness is considered "Keter". Safe: Just put it in a locked box and you're done. Euclid: You're gonna need more than just a box, but containment is still possible. Most anomalies that can move on their own count as this. Keter: Containment is extremely difficult and breaches are to be expected. Apollyon: Almost impossible to contain. Expect containment breaches every time. Thaumiel: Used _to_ contain anomalies. Archon: DO NOT CONTAIN. We probably _can_ contain it, but containment of an Archon-class anomaly will cause more harm than leaving it alone would. Ticonderoga: Even if we _could_ contain it, we probably shouldn't. It's been around for so long, people no longer question it. Explained: Our understanding of reality has progressed to the point where we can actually explain the object, so it's no longer anomalous. Neutralized: The object is either destroyed or has lost its anomalous properties. This is typically done accidentally. Decommissioned: Same as Neutralized, but done so _intentionally_ by the Foundation itself. Pending: Has not been given a classification yet. Uncontained: We know it exists, we just haven't gotten around to containing it yet. Esoteric: Only exists as a plot-device in a story, so the writer should put more effort into it before it's given an actual classification. Try to avoid this.

In the When Day Breaks story the Researcher brings her wife back with a occult ritual. It worked.. but her soul was corrupted by the SCP-001. The researchers wife was haunting that room and trying to get her spouse to join. The creatures themselves can't affect technology, but the spirit of the wife who was affected by the Anomaly can.

It's made on the same engine as the Amnesia games. And if there's something Amnesia is known for, it's the custom stories. Just compare the main game of Amnesia: The Dark Descent with the custom story White Night.

This is a huge coincidence! A few hours ago I watched a video about the story of Soma and then I saw THIS. This custom story is awesome and I don't know what it actually is but this rather simple concept was well delivered. It just got worse and worse and worse and the hopelessenes creeped deep into my skin. I have seen a lot of stories that try to tell you how useless any thought of hope is but from what was told here you could taste it, too. This could actually be a full game like Soma and I can imagine to travel from one station to the other to flee the monsters and find someone alive, just to die anyway in the end by getting trapped in a room that has security shutters that get opened by you accidently because you have been lured inside there. Or something like that.

You know, after playing Atomic Heart and listening to Complex Numbers those kinds of variants upon the idea of Human Instrumentality Project do not seem so spooky to me. More like an evolution than genocide, I guess. They are still mostly alive in there, straight up melding they consciousness, reaching complete understanding but not devolving into a mush of memories and behavioural quirks, separate people united in single existence. Maybe it's weird and disgusting, but not as awful as I thought about it at first. The story of Igotta and Ari was in the original article, and it's just gutwrenching. To be in that position, your lover being turned into some creature, hostile to you, begging you to join them in assimilation... I don't think I could endure it. But knowing it'll just bring you back from death, so you can't even give up? It's unbelievably oppressive. I can't even anticipate whether I'd prefer to be incinerated down to ash so they (probably) couldn't still take me, or if I'd just fall to despair and go out into the light. Don't really know what's worse. I mean, objectively the apocalyptic anomaly thing is _way worse,_ but I just don't know if I'd care any more in Igotta's position.
