That final panckes bit is a little more revealing than you might think. it implies that humanity is actively trading food with them delivering good like syrup and pancakes, witch also tells us that humanity has safe trade networks meaning they probably beat the shit out of some people to clear the way over.

Not to mention comforts like electricity, given the way erinis talked of her culture, they were only somewhere in the medieval era. Still using bow and arrow and only having clothes of rough stitched leather. And the talk of lights being quickly turned on in the bedroom rather than lighting torches or lanterns.

Old story but its a good one so I am happy to listen to it again. I don't remember if I read it or it was an audio book but i do remember it was divided up into chapters so its nice to get it all in one audiobook. A nice respite from the awful AI stories, I call them Hollywood class stories, very low quality and mostly with a girl boss super soldier, admiral or whatever the Hollywood woke feminist culture love pushing for hundreds of millions loss because nobody likes these dumpster fire stories. This story has a well written female alien main character but its not full of "The Message", its well written and a breath of fresh air.
