The JW never take responsibility for false date setting. The 1975 expectation almost ruined my mother’s and my life.

Hi there, Are you willing to expand on how 1975 affected you and your mom? How did it almost ruin you two?

@@kehindejohnson6286 My mother was told to spend or give to JW all the money she had (inherited from my father, who had died, and in part recommended because of jealous JW’s), that we would be ‘throwing our gold and silver in the street’, so she did not plan for her retirement, and she grew old, with only me to care for her and went into bankruptcy. I was told to quit high school, that there was no point in even finishing that level of education, and I wanted to go to medical school. I have that much intellectual ability. Instead I went to a four-year college and I’ve carved out a big national career, that fortunately help support all of my family, who made no provision for the future because of the false date setting. I also gave up any thought of having children being told that it would be irresponsible to bring children into a situation where we were going into the great tribulation, so I’m alone with no family and no children. God stands by my side and I love Christ Jesus and I will continue on teaching the scriptures until this world does finally end upon Christ’s return.

When I was a little girl, I was born in the 70’s, I remember a family who sold everything and gave it to the society. They lived in a tiny house and I remember my parents talking about them. They weren’t regular in attendance and felt very wronged by the society as the end hadn’t come. Years later they built up their finances again and built a huge house. I still remember my parents talking about all the people that were encouraged to give everything to the society. But it seemed more because the end was coming rather than what it says in Luk 3:11 - And he would answer and say to them, “The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.” It seemed more about buying life everlasting to me.

wouldn't it be interested to know what Rutherford was thinking and saying the day he was informed on Russell's death, the day Rutherford started conspiring!?

My favorite part of The Finished Mystery was were they commented on the Revelation verse about the punishment for adding to or raking away from the Book of Revelation. (22:18,19) They said such a person would be punished in the Millennium by having to read the seven volumes of Studies in the Scriptures, to see where they personally had been wrong. (And I thought they didn't believe in eternal torment. 🤣😂🤣 )

I think that jesus is the Faithful and discreet slave. This isn't plural, its singler. 1) He was faithful to his father till death. 2) Descreet with his teaching. 3) And was sold for 30 pieces of silver, a Slave's price. I could be wrong tho.
@cmotherofpirl2 жыл бұрын
only JWs use discreet slave. It is actually translated faithful servant. Servants were NOT slaves, and had rights under the law. JWs changed Scripture and use it to reinforce control.
@sigma25512 жыл бұрын
@@cmotherofpirl In roman times they payed for Slave's and they served in houses as servants of the roman elites, but they were still Slave's. Only Slave's of the Jews had little rights. Jesus was confronted by judus/ a priest/ Pharisees and the Sadducees/ and roman soldiers too. Learn your history and I'm not a jw blw.
@cmotherofpirl2 жыл бұрын
@@sigma2551 again the proper translation is faithful servant, not slave. Roman slaves actually gained rights and could take their masters to court.
@sigma25512 жыл бұрын
@@cmotherofpirl like I said, learn real history. Servus publicus. A servus publicus was a slave owned not by a private individual, but by the Roman people. Public slaves worked in temples and other public buildings both in Rome and in the municipalities. Most performed general, basic tasks as servants to the College of Pontiffs, magistrates, and other officials. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_ancient_Rome#:~:text=73%E2%80%9371%20BC.-,Servus%20publicus,%2C%20magistrates%2C%20and%20other%20officials. And 30 pieces of silver was the price of a slave. In Exodus 21:32, 30 pieces of silver was the price of a slave, so while Zechariah calls the amount a "handsome price" (Zechariah 11:13), this could be sarcasm. Barry Webb, however, regards it as a "considerable sum of money. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirty_pieces_of_silver#:~:text=In%20Exodus%2021%3A32%2C%2030,%22considerable%20sum%20of%20money.%22 And how did the Pharisees treat jesus when integrating him? They spat on him, slapped him, verbally abused him and then had him whipped by the Romans and nailed up, so I guess he was treated worse than a slave.
@cmotherofpirl2 жыл бұрын
@@sigma2551 LOL. as you yourself noted , slaves also belonged to private individuals. Over time, laws did improve slaves rights. This of course has nothing to do with the fact that watchtower deliberately mistranslated the phrase as a control tactic.

Mostly, and true followers of JW respet the Bible and follow the Bible teaching closer than any other religions on this planet. That's what my studying of religion taught me. No it's not perfect but it teaches more TRUTHs than other religions especially the ones that use the Bible to take money from their members for their own needs. JW don't take money from their followers or Brothers and Sisters or pay someone to preach on Sundays. Their was only 2 perfect men on this earth according to the Good Book. Only 2. Everyone else are imperfect. It's easy to spread stories or to give out hear say information to fill what you wanna believe in. Humans have always threw each other under the bus head first. If you was not there to eye wittness it then how do a person know for sure what's what you are saying true or untrue? So we really don't know if it's true or not. Everyone has free will to believe or follow whomever they want to. They can follow you if they want to. JW are still growing just like the Good Book said This Good New of the Kingdom will be Preached through out the Earth for all a Wittness.....So no matter what you say or anyone else say God's Word will be Preach through out the Earth. Do you know the meaning of the word cult? Again everyone have the right to believe what they want to. Books written by men or women and their opinions means nothing compared to God's Word the Bible. Man made holidays is a dishonor to our Lord and Savior. We can start with that one. I am not upset about how you choose to live your life . I just don't understand why you try to throw JW under the bus. All religions started with a man and millions of them say they follow the Bible but there acting prove they don't. Most if them follow a man or woman who leads the church and to me people go to a church or join a religion because it allows them to break Bible rules (having all types of sex and not married, lying, stealing, gambling, and over drinking alcohol, and doing all types of illegal drugs) then pay money to the church leaders for their sinful life they are living.

JWs are blinded by Satan, they have only a form of godliness but deny God’s true power. Them saying they have the truth does not make it the Truth. They are an evil cult that protects pedophiles and cover up wrongdoing all in the name of not bringing reproach on their false god Jehovah’s name.

God's name is in the original writing of The King James version. Your comment is a prime example of a person that disrespects God's Word the Bible. Hopefuly you don't know any better or maybe you have been mislead. AgaIn all Humans are imperfect. Overall JW followers respect and follow the Bible closer than any other religions on this planet. You have described the actions of some people in ALL religions. Imperfect humans that have not did the right thing. AgaIn there was only 2 perfect men on this earth. You have the right to live your life how ever you want to. God's Word the Bible give everyone a chance to do or not to do. But in the end only the ones that have followed the will of God will enter his Kingdom. The Lord's Prayer.
