"THAT HANDLE THING" is used to keep you alive, it allows you to change barrels when they get too hot. If the barrel gets too hot, it will glow orange, then yellow then it bends down, bullets come through the top of the barrel and it explodes....it also makes it easier to carry.

Just an FYI, the handle is part of the barrel. Many moons ago, when I served, one of the weapons I use to play with was the M 249 SAW. after firing a couple hundred rounds, the barrel would get hot and you needed to change it out or ya end up with a warped barrel.......and a shit ton of grief from the armorer 🤣🤣🤣

They're not particularly accurate either. Yeah, you can hit a barn with em, but they're only a 12 MOA weap as I recall. The Mk 48 is much better. I'm just glad I didn't have to carry either of them...or the ammo.:D

Just saw this vid come into my feed. I am much newer to the game than the producer, having wanted to wait until I had the AI’s until I played the game. I found the game incredibly easy with the AI teammates and finally turned them off. I came across this base during a side mission where you have to destroy the drone there. I decided to try it alone as at level 35 and got massacred repeatedly. Just for the hell of it, used the AI teammates and cleared this level without ever firing a shot. I remember the older games where the AI’s seem to be better integrated into the missions and storyline, but now they are just so OP it is insane. I really enjoy the game more now having to clear camps myself. Just wish I would have started playing a year ago😢

(USMC) 0311/0313/0331 vet here, the handle you asked about is for unlocking the barrel from the receiver, so a hot barrel can be quickly swapped out for a second one, in order to maintain a particular fire or suppression rate. Most crew served weapons systems have this feature and it’s very important for proper weapon function in actually combat. Traditionally most actual machine guns are manned by at least 2 people, generally an A(1) and B(2) gunner. A(1) gunner will be shouldered behind the weapon and pulling the trigger holding a certain sector of fire and maintaining the proper rate of fire depending on the situation. B gunner generally is who is changing barrels and reloading the weapon. That handle is not used for reloading on true crew served “machine guns.”

That Behemoth training area is easy. Just castle in the control tower. Mine the stairs and when your cover is blown let them come to you. Then deal with the rollers.

The handle on the top of the gun is purely for carrying it by your side, the cocking handle is on the side, runs horizontal along the side of the gun.

That black handle thing you see on the MK48 is the carrying handle. It's primary function is the removal of the barrel. You don't know because you are not a Soldier like me. Barrels on Military Machine Guns have to be changed out after so many rounds in real life combat

according to the manufacturer, you are correct. however, if any NCO that knew what he was doing saw you carry it by the carry handle, you'd probably get a foot to the chest. it's not that hard to fuck up the headspace on a m249 or m240 which is why its preached not to carry it by the handle. not to mention you risk bumping the gun on your leg which could result in depressing the barrel release lever causing the gun to fall off the barrel. dont carry the gun by the carry handle. it's there so you dont burn your hands during barrel changes.

The issue at this point, for me anyway, is replayablity since there's nothing to do that I haven't already done at least 3751 times. ;) I completed the new campaign twice, on two different characters, and it was fun, but now I'm back to having nothing to do. Sure, I could do the daily Elite missions but those are boring since I've done them all too many times. And all my classes are maxed out (lvl 10). :|
