the entire concept of sex education was my thesis back in highschool and the faculty did not entertain let alone browse my paper just because of the topic. the disappointment always comes back kapag naaalala ko siya because I believe that people do want to know everything about it, it's just that the society, institutions, the traditional Filipino culture stigmatize it very much to the point that instead of normalizing sex education, it becomes taboo. this episode is very informative, kudos to the everyone at reccreateph!!

Sex should be taught from home personally speaking. Sana lang mawala na yung stereotyping na thru friends, magazines or porn lang natututo ang kabataan which is sometimes mali ang nagiging application nila. Madaming kabataan ang ginagawa ang sex at an early age pero nakapa taboo pa din pag usapan ang sex sa bahay which is dapat di na natin ugaliin para madaming kabataan ang maging open when talking to their sex life

imo, I believe we should teach them at a younger age because teenager or not, theyre gonna have sex regardless and instead of them being clueless about contraceptives and consent, we could have them be more responsible before it happens or right around the age it happens

i agree with you. as a teenager there's really so much that i don't know about these things yet which kinda scares me. talking about these things also help teenagers in knowing what to do during unexpected things. sana magka sex ed na kasi mas nakakatakot na kung saan saan natututunan ng kabataan like me yung mga gantong bagay.

I agree. Especially we are now in the 21st century. We are now in digital generation . Kids are exposed in technology. If parents will just let their kids used internet alone and learn about sex through it, their curiosity will lead them to early pregnancy.

I think most of our parents including mine were all afraid to teach their children about this stuff, and since we happened to be a Christian nation, so talking about sensitive topic like this should be bought under the table. The more our parents na iniiwasan pagusapan the more tayong nacucurious. So they depends on the school talaga, well in my case first year highschool na kami naturuan ng proper sex ed, 'twas on MAPEH -Health specific.

Loved this topic!! But para po sa kaalaman ng lahat, Sex Education is more than sexual intercourse or in our words, "kantutan". Under this umbrella term, there are self-pleasure din or masturbation, kinks, fetishes, and ofc SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression). I get that the team had little time to talk about all this pero I hope gawan nila ng part 2 and talk about self-pleasures din. Tapos syempre, separate vid din for SOGIE. Side-note: Kakulay ba ng outfit ni Jan yung dalawang bean bag?? Hahahaha I just noticed

@sofiaellainepechayco51883 жыл бұрын
I guess the reason behind why parents or schools institutions are afraid/strict about sex education to younger teens is because they might take it as a "curious path" wherein they push to know more about that "thing" or might see it as a weird learning in result to being afraid. Both are acceptable response as long as there will be a great intervention to help them fully understood such thing.
@sidlaluz54333 жыл бұрын
I remembered teaching sex educ to my 5th graders and surprisingly, they are really vocally curious. Just like you guys, I spoke unfiltered to them and gave them appropriate visuals. My favorite line to them is, "It's better that you'll learn these from me with proper explanation than to hear, watch, and read these from other people and media inappropriately." Btw, it's been a long time since I last watched you guys. Sobrang nakakamiss!
@Kenny-ov7gh3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for another great video! I love that you guys broke down the toxic culture around sex education. It's unfortunate how some of us can't even pinpoint when exactly we discovered sex. I'd like to bring up one more thing that is super important and that is consent. There's a lot of confusion around it, what it is, who can give it, when to give it. These boundaries should really be something that we should teach at a young age. Not only would it help minimize rape and its culture but it can also help girls realize their own self-worth (which is stumped by gender roles and hypermasculinity) and help boys understand and build healthy boundaries early in life.
@arlanmanio89883 жыл бұрын
I learn thru conversation with my Tatay. He explain it to me as one of responsibility and not just for pleasure. When you have sex, its a responsibility wether or not may mabuo na bata o wala.. regardless kung may contraceptives o wala, dapat ready ka sa responsibilidad na pwedeng umusbong dun -- be it a baby or a illness(AIDS if done with multiple partner)

For me naman, I think that the biological/physiological/health science is just a part of the sex education that should be taught in schools. It should also encompass all the fields of study that relate to it. Lalo na the psychology and socio-cultural aspect of it, to help those who get confused or not be able to speak up kasi it is conflicting, for example, with theirs or their family’s religion. It also takes skills to really share learnings to the students that will get them to a deeper level of understanding and have that sense pf contextualization from their own living environment (homes, family, community, religion) and lalo na in the Philippines. Our country needs more effort pa talaga, but I am hopeful in that future possibilty na sex ed will be instituationalized in our classrooms. :)

Feeling ko sa sinabi ni Miss A na dapat turuan na ng Sex Education ang mga babae as they start to have period, and she also said na Sa lalaki kahit ano naman mangyari which is kindy off yung both statement sa akin, why I do believe and based sa nabasa ko na at younger Age(3-7) we should teach our children the concept of sexuality and gender, and Ages (5-8) the concept of touchiness (pasok ditonyung concept ng consent snd physical touch), Ages 8-12 yung parts of their body na pinahahalagahan ang sexual organs kasi may mga (early bloomers) and kung pwede teach them ano yung function nito, yung concept of Sex is should be thought around Ages 10-14 pasok dito yung contraceptives, STI, STD, and body changes throughout the puberty, and lastly Ages 14-18 family planning and other Related topic ng Sex Ed. Sabi rin sa nabasa ko yun can Change the steps or Alter it based on the child needs and knowledge. Sa sinabi ni Miss A more on physical yung approach nya kaya nasabi nya yun, but I think there is still Mental effect ang not knowing Sex Education that may lead to many problems kaya Sex Education should be tought properly.

Today's generation is so lucky that they have access to many information regarding sex. And I agree with Jan na the moment na nagreach na ng adolescence, sex should be taught na. However, at a young age, nalalaman na nila ung nga terms like "pepe", "tite", at "kantutan". During those time, they should be guided na what it meant until they fully understand it. The moment kasi na pinagbabawalan, mas lalo silang nagiging curious.

Kaya we are aware of possible diseases that we might got if we sex unprotectedly. Also the best way to learn sex is better to start at HOME. For the Gen Z's and Millennials out their, we must change the mindset if our parents na tago at napaka conservative, we must teach our future children to br aware of that. Good Luck!

Young Filipinos must learn about sex ed and the possible diseases they could acquire when they are active to sex and or having multiple partners because they thought it's cool and fulfills their sexual desires. Also they should learn the responsibilities when they are engaging to sex, esp to men that they can make a woman pregnant for not knowing about safe sex and contraceptives. Nakakalungkot lang na ang Pilipinas ay isa sa mga may mataas na rate of teenage pregnancy. Also, Filipinos are not really open talking about sex and contraceptives but they are active on having sex. Sobrang pangit lang na sa pagiging conservative ng Filipinos umabot sa point na di nila kaya pag usapan yung topics about sex and even contraceptives like condoms not unless natuturo yun ng mga nasa health allied or sa school or self-taught na lang through internet.

I have a really embarassing story due to lack of sexual education (medyo?). One of my classmate told us that it meant "someone who did not have a relationship". We thought it literally mean just like that. 😭

I think its easy to say not to be taboo but we have to accept it somehow that it is part of our culture already and breaking that wont be easy, it is like teaching indians to eat sushi (just for example) instead of forcing every filipino not to be taboo I think its better to educate eveyone about sex in the same manner, not in a prank and fast pace way but in a Filipino way
