At my hospital HR always informs people who's paycheck may incorrect that it will be corrected on the next regular payday. Said that it takes that long to do anything with deposits or withdrawals. Well a couple years ago they accidentally sent double deposits to our accounts for our Christmas bonuses. Less than 24 hours later they were able to electronically recover the extra deposit. Now when they screw up a person's check, they get it done quick.

When I made a complaint about my former manager and then discovered that this same manager had at least a dozen and a half complaints against them that would always be buried and ignored because of nepotism and the manager having close relationships with multiple company hr executives. I'm still pissed! 😤🤬

One place I worked the HR lady was caught keeping people on the books for over a year that had left or been fired and taking those checks and cashing them herself
@PokeMageTech17 күн бұрын
That’s even worse than what I assumed when I started reading: they were still being paid. Stealing the checks?! Yikes!

When I was 17 and got my first job. They gave me the hole training video for three hours thing. The part about HR being employed by the company to protect the company and myself. Written in that order. That's when I learned HR wasn't here for us.
@michaelterrell7 ай бұрын
I never received any training for any job that I ever had. I tested out of a three year Engineering school at 20, and often taught others to do our work, better and faster. For instanc. I tok one job frm an average of 7.5 hours down to 17 minutes , and a reduced failure rate of over 90%.

It's good you learned that lesson from the video itself, most just lie and say it's to protect you and not the comoany.

Got fired while on sick leave. Was told I'd get to keep my insurance as I was disabled. They tried to make me sign papers that said I'd loose it after 6 months, completely contrary to not only my contract, but what they had said verbally. Got pissed at me when I refused to sign.

Much of the problem with HR is that they will find problems where no exists so that they can feel like they're doing their job in times when there is little to do

Was laid off because of seasonal layoffs coinciding with me wanting to take fridays off for some first aid training. HR asked for a letter of resignation 'to know when my last day would be'. It was so they could but 'quit' on my record of employment instead of 'laid off'.
@largol33t126 ай бұрын
Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't just straight up lie on the paperwork like they did at my job. When I got fired, they lied and claimed I quit on my own.

When I asked if I could take my break time at the end of my shift because I wanted to leave earlier so I could be on time for a test (I was an inter and legally they would have to let me leave an hour earlier, but that hellhole didn't mind laws too much) and she proceeded to tattle on me the next day saying I was not working all my hours when she, herself, had looked me in the eye and told me it was alright to leave 20 minutes earlier. I reached out to some contacts that very day for another internship and proceeded to take my breaks for exactly 20 minutes at the kitchen, she'd usually walk in and see me there just standing around, but couldn't really do much as it was my mandatory break. I got another job about three days after this whole fifth grade powertrip went down.

while working for Tacala the east coast franchise owner of taco bell My manager wrote on a heading cabinet for food "if your talking pay you will be terminated." I pointed at it and said that is illegal. She gathered everyone said some people are upset about me note. I raised my hand and said it violates labor law. Tried to show the law for my state on my phone she said she didn't give a damn what my phone said. Then sent me home. I tried calling HR got no answer I was fired for making a hostel work enviroment. HR has still yet to call me 6 months later after calling for a week after getting fired.

When I was laid off, after saving the company from losing out on a $250,000 early shipping bonus. We manufactured custom Telemetry equipment This order was huge, and they wanted it faster than the projected delivery date. If we could ship 90 days ahead of schedule, we received to bonus. After that, I was laid off 'For not being a team player'.

An entire department designed to manage humans as a resource and not as living being should raise red flags instantly. I remember when I first entered the work force and a lovely lady greeted me with a smile that did not reflect anyone that interviewed me. Being a sceptical asshole I questioned why the company didn't see humans as living beings and instead as objects. She was confused and I clarified that she works for a department that is called Human Resources. She proceeded to explain what HR does (I was still stupid) but she made one critical mistake. She didn't know I spoke multiple European languages and insulted me in French to another lady from HR. I didn't return the second day and joined a different engineering firm. The engineer who hired me called and asked where I was and I repeated to him what the ladies from HR said about me. I didn't know was the head of HR was on the call as well and ready to jump in to tell me they were terminating my employment. It was a shock for me to hear the head of HR say wtf on the call before she questioned me about it. Still to this day I refuse to work with this engineering company and have repeated this story to them many times. Granted I was an asshole when after leaving Uni so it's not unexpected for people to call me such 😂

At a company i worked at the HR person (we only had 1) was the owner of the company which is a massive conflict of intersts. Her sone was the CEO of the company so if he ever did anything and you went to complain, she would just tell him and he would come down and go mental at you over it. It got so bad to the point where several of us just downed tools one day, and told him to his face to "Shove his shit company up his arse" give him the finger, then started walking out. He STILL tried to pull rank on us and tell us to "Get in the office or we would be fired" to which we replied "Don't you get it you moron, we just quit, you can't fire us even if you wanted to" then we left and never went back. That started a chain of events in which about 20 out of the 50 or so employeees all quit within a month..

NEVER EVER believe that any company (especially those in the US/Canada) will value hard work. They don't give a damn about that. I have in my 20 years of working, never ever seen hard work get anyone promoted. I personally don't give a fuck if it gets me a bad review. I KNOW how they think and that they'd give me a low review even if I worked 70 hours a week for five years.

The HR girl blamed me for getting froped by my female manager. I'm a subordinate. My job is to obey or get fired. There's the social norm of women can't socksually harass men. I'm a man. I obeyed another social norm of men can't complain about anything or else they're seen as weak. But then I finally complained to HR and was told I complained too late. This was in 2021 with the Too Me movement still being fairly fresh. Nothing happened next I was hroped often, ironically her most active vrooing was about a month after Harvey Weinstein was being talked about

It was summer n i wore shorts to work (u are allowed to wear shorts as long as its black) its part of the summer uniform. So basically HR woman told me to not wear shorts and there was complain. I was confused like it wasnt office workplace. I confirmed with my manager and he told me it was ok to wear the shorts i am wearing. So i continued wearing then i got invited to a meeting for warning letter for not changing into pants. My manager lodged an investigation from 3rd party to solve the issue. Turns out there were no such complaint made. All by herself. N reason she complaint was basically jealous of my long slim legs. (She is late 30s and abit fat). N she admitted jealousy n made her feel insecure. Here is the kicker. I am a dude…
