@ophilianecr3 жыл бұрын
@@susanlbk Hi there! As somebody in recovery from an ED, i can tell you there are some misconceptions on what we do and we see ourselves in mirrors. It's not that we see ourselves as obese when we're skinny; more like it's difficult to tell the difference at a certain point, because our perception is skewed. It also depends on the person, some of us focus our obsession on numbers, some on looks, some both. I went from being 230lbs as a teen, to a lot less than half that weight (i don't want to be more specific to avoid triggering somebody). I didn't focus on numbers, but on the way i looked, and i can tell you that after a while it became hard to tell the difference between being normal and overweight. I could tell that i still had a "muffin top" with certain clothes, or that I had cellulite on my thighs and i perceived it as excess fat. I also couldn't get rid of the excess skin from weightloss and it looked like i was still fat when i looked in the mirror naked. But with clothes on, i looked fine, or like i could "hide the fat". For me, it wasn't until i was able to see my collarbones and ribs that I felt i was finally getting somewhere, but the little rolls of excess skin STILL skewed my perspective and it felt like i wasn't losing weight evenly. There's a misconception that anorexics "don't eat", but in truth we do, but it's very strategically, and very little. I was eating just enough to give my body energy every day. By that point though, it was obvious to everybody that I had a problem. I'm in my mid 30's, ans I still struggle with the skewed perspective, even after being in recovery 3 years. Because like OP says, it never really goes away. You just learn to handle your own mind, and understand your ED isn't a rational condition.

A few years ago, I developed an unhealthy obsession for cherry tomatoes. I wouldn't even drink fluids. My diet mainly consisted of only the tomatoes and I lost weight due to it, so I continued to do it. But then a year later, I began to get these burning, swelling pains in my left elbow, right wrist and the balls of my feet. Some days I could not walk, it was so painful. The weight of my own hands would pull down on my joints and cause a lot of pain. Eventually, my family found me writhing in pain and took me to urgent care. After several tests, turns out I had acid build up in my joints and my rheumatoid factor was triple the norm. Now I am on six different medicines to manage the pain of my rheumatoid arthritis. Definitely, not worth it to keep a slim body. Ironically, one of my medicines causes weight gain, so I am no longer thin, but I am not in pain anymore. And I learned from the experience. Stay healthy, but don't put your health at risk.

Ms. Mayhem, my Mom also had a severe but unusual reaction to eating tomatoes. There was a produce stand near her house that sold tomatoes, and they were really delicious, so she would eat one standing over the sink, shaking a little salt onto each bite. She did that every day for about two weeks, then one day she woke up and her eyesight was blurry and dim. Tests revealed that the tomatoes had caused acid buildup and because she was diabetic, blood flow had diverted away from her eyes. I never knew that was even a thing for some people. I'm sorry to hear you have continuing pain, sending a careful hug your way 😉

Heart malfunction is what kills anorexics. The heart is a muscle and when the body is in starvation mode with no body fat to burn it starts consuming muscle.
@MzClementine2 жыл бұрын
@Laurie absolutely but there's also other factors within there. Such as CoQ10, it's food for the muscle. The muscle that never stops. Not to mention, lack of fat, and the function of all the hormonal system and the hormones such as neurotransmitters as well. The function of everything just completely and utterly uses itself until it's last beat. And you know what's so sad. Emaciating the body literally eating yourself to death. The mind is still in function and some of them still want to live. Yet their muscle cannot handle it anymore. Beta blockers, they block the absorption of CoQ10. That's why it's so expensive to buy now. Literally. When you go to the store looking the vitamins sections I laugh. Once they learned of this they Jack the price up on it. And what's so sad is people don't realize, it's better to get CoQ10 from animals bio nutrients is always where it's at. Bone broth. The golden elixir. Heaven sent. Truly animals are a gift to us. With proper animal husbandry. Not only do we need them but our land needs them. We are destroying the microbes and bacteria in our soil with glyphosate and other pesticides. The very fact that Florida has flesh eating bacteria is because of the pesticides. And within humans your gut bacteria is responsible for more than just breaking down a nutrient. It's the communication hub between all cells. Not only that it helps us to simulate or a transmitters and hormones. For the proper function of our body. Truly that's what keeps us trying to live. And whenever it has nothing left to assimilate and give to ourselves to give to our organs our lungs our hearts our brain our bladder our muscles our nervous system our sacred Jacob's ladder our Vagus nerve. The lights go out.

My daughter, root of 5‘6“. When she was in school and a teenager she was in size 0. She always carried safety pins, and candy bars. She just couldn’t put on weight. As a young woman, her system started to change. When she got pregnant, she went to size 2. She lost weight after the baby and ended up in size one. Obviously she was thrilled that she was that heavy. Today, she is size 2, she looks wonderful. She is looking forward to Sunday making up to size 3, she’s just approaching 50 years of age. I was not there but I was told that a group of ladies were horrified at this very thin girl at the mall. Apparently they were contemplating intervening in this obviously starving young woman. When my daughter pulled out of her purse I candy bar. All she had in her purse was a bear necessities and a couple candy bars. This surprised the people. After that we stopped at the food court. There she had a hoagie, fries supersized, and a regular drink. She ate all of it.

I did when I was a teenager but was luckily able to mentally overcome it. Strangely enough, in some ways it benefits me to this day. I learned to maintain my weight in a healthy way and now have carried that knowledge into adulthood. Once it becomes routine, it’s much easier to maintain and you kind of just do it naturally without having to think too much about it. I know a lot of people that lose and then gain quickly and keep repeating that and that’s not healthy either. I basically have a number picked and as soon as I hit it I start paying more attention to small things and slowly take it back down to my preferred weight but there’s only about an 8 pound “give”. It’s a mental condition 100%. When I was young, I started turning it around by first replacing it with other, more healthy obsessions that I eventually replaced with others healthier ones until I was just doing healthy things and the obsession went away. I don’t know if that’s a recommended course of action but just sharing what worked for me. Best wishes to you!

These stories are indeed very sad. First, you have to love yourself and be wise about your health. My doctor, never believed in quick fix diets, that are not healthy or short term. He said, a healthy, balanced diet of all the four food groups, coupled with exercise, is the only wise way to lose pounds, and change bad eating habits. Starving yourself, only weakens and damages your body as a whole. Years ago, he gave me an, 1800 calorie diet sheet that shows the four food groups and how much you should consume in a day. Well, it worked for me. I lost over 120lbs, I walked more, rode my bike and was never hungry. I whipped up my own recipes, using tasty, low fat ingredients or better substitutes. This thought is aimed especially at young girls. You are beautiful just the way you are. Keep healthy in mind and spirit as well.

I also followed the keto diet until a couple months ago (since last September). In the one video I made, I was a bit chubby, but keto (alongside tons of hiit routines and weight lifting) helped me drop down to a very low body fat (too low for a female, especially if you are just doing it willy-nilly and don't have a professional to help you get there). I eventually got random, very intense headaches all the time, and I couldn't do cardio without getting chest pain. The symptoms got so bad that I thought I had an aneurysm and some kind of cardiomyopathy. I asked the doctor for an MRI and a Chest X-ray. In the end and it was all pretty normal, but I was low on magnesium and potassium. After that, I saw a dietician, who told me to increase my carbs and take mineral supplements. In a couple of months, I was not as lean, but all the symptoms were gone. Turns out, because my diet lacked carbs, my liver had to work exttra hard to produce glucose, and that was what was causing the headaches. The chest pain was due to mineral deficiencies and just straining my body too much. If you want to drastically change your diet, especially if you are already in good health, talk to a professional first. Looking a certain way is not worth dying young.

This video confuses ketosis with ketoacidosis. We have no idea of the woman's actual circumstances. The family blaming her demise on a ketogenic diet is not exactly reliable evidence. The average conventionally trained doctor or dietician is ignorant about the ketogenic process, and it is easy to blame any problems on the ketogenic principle, when the cause is probably something else. You said yourself that you had too little body fat, which is not the fault of ketogenics per se. Perhaps cortisol levels were too high from too much exercise. A person eating few carbs does not automatically mean they are getting proper nutrition. You found yourself, that you were mineral deficient. There are so many variables. I hope you might consider exploring the subject again, and approach it holistically, as a way of optimising the body's functioning, where weight loss, only if necessary, is just a by-product . There are loads of channels on the subject, but all are most definitely NOT created equal in their quality and understanding! The best I've found so far is Dr Sten Ekberg, and as a sample here's a link to his video on the distinction between ketosis and ketoacidosis. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX2ppJWHg9-krJI All the best to you! :)

@Rebecca I have been on a keto/carnivore diet since 2004. I have one good working kidney, my left one is malrotated malformed transverse. Basically it's right against my stomach. It's shaped like a fish. The uterine comes from the bottom and it wraps around my kidney. 19 and 1/2 in long. I was making kidney stones like a quarry. Calcium oxalate. Dense as bone. I like the DNA to host a specific bacteria to break down oxalate. Yeah very dangerous for me. I can't even take the bacteria because I don't have the DNA my body doesn't know what to do with it. See your DNA dictates, what happens in your body and what is done and what is good for you. With you working out you should have been putting salt inside of your water. It's essential. You have to salt your meat properly. You have to salt everything properly. When you stopped eating processed foods. And you went into natural foods natural foods don't come with sodium. You have to put the sodium into it. You did that by your own account. And it's sad. that you're actually led to believe that because of what your doctor said. First of all. You need salt in absolutely everything especially on a keto/carnivore diet. Darling I've been on this diet since 2004. I'm not joking I almost died twice. Not from the diet from my oxalate issues. Not to mention that, I'm also an arborist 25 years. I deal with diet nutrition, I actually have a protocol for cirrhosis of the liver and hepatitis. It is my pleasure and duty, to take care of a client under Dr care. I need their blood tests. I need their blood test to prove, my protocol and how the body functions. It was by your own cause. Was your dietician A specialized dietitian within the carnivore ketogenic diet? I'm not joking. I know a few I could actually lead you to one. Of course your body will do that but why did it do that? It was missing salt, minerals. You have to salt everything. I even drink salt water. My favorite drink in the whole world, coconut water lemon salt. Nature's Gatorade. Gives me good magnesium, good minerals. Good alkalinity to help break up some of my calcium stones. You say it in your own words. So does the dietitian. You needed salt.

The way he spelled "Vaidotas Gerbutavicius" made me laugh, knowing they way it should be spelled correctly.

I would like to know if our great narrator has ever considered reading or collaborating on a creepypasta. Like on Chilling Tales for Dark Nights or Mr Creepypasta. I think he would make a great voice actor in this area. Does anyone else feel the same way?

I know an incident where a girl only ate Noddles. One day while she was playing sports She fell down breaking her thigh bone. Doctors were unable to even put metal joints as her bone, as said by the surgeon, "very soft" (would crumble) due to low vitamin diet. Instead of fixing, the metal joins were damaging her bones further. Thus, making her unable to walk for life. She is now under rehab

Oh, the tapeworm diet is actually still popular today!! I actually saw this case where the mother gave the daughter tapeworms she got from Mexico.. How can you do that to your child? Drinking too much water is one thing I know all to well.. I use to drink 3G a day because I just love water that much.. I didn't realize I could die from flushing all of my minerals etc out..

The thought of the tapeworm diet is just revolting. We worm our pets against this and humans also at times.
