It's actually pretty amazing how far we've come musically since the early part of the 20th century. In one generation we went from folk to classic rock to soft rock to metal to disco and punk.

Studio 54, the height of the disco era where celebrities & non-celebrities flock to have "a real good time" in the heart of New York City! I guess some of the things or stories that went on in Studio 54, never left the doors, so goes the saying, what happens here, stays here! Even though I was a child during those decade in the mid thru late 70s' the disco music and sensation raptures me & I will forever love ♥ that! :)

cja sewell you are so right but Disco never really died it lived on in Funk - RnB BECAUSE MANY TIMES IN RECORD STORES THEN Disco was in the same section as Funk - R n B etc also much of the Dance music you heard in the 90's etc sounded just like Disco in fact you could say it was or is Disco under the name of Dance just so they didn't have to use the word Disco, even a lot of Techno sounds like Disco.

Disc jockey Steve Dahl was fired from his job because his station started playing disco. That whole thing at Comiskey Park was just his way of expressing his hatred for disco. The riot had nothing to do with the baseball game and those people who trashed the field were not baseball fans (Real baseball fans don't rush into a field).

in 2023 disco STILL rules my world because now I can make compilations of all my favorite tracks and avoid those boring k-Tel collections. And I can carry the tracks wherever I go in my iPhone and iPad.

I was in kindergarten when 54 opened. Some of the disco music is the greatest. Seeing this doc. & the studio 54 doc. I've seen so many celebs/famous people that are now dead...r.i.p to all of them. Studio 54 looked like a big fuck house/drug den where one occasionally danced.

I can't believe she said the disco sucked movement was because of homophobia, racist ism, etc..are you kidding me! I don't think she remembers that there was straight, gay, blacks, whites packing these places every night and they didn't shoot, stab and beat the shit out of each other either. This is why the 90's on suck. People are so up tight and everything has to be political. I'm surprised they can function in a society were if you don't have twitter, Facebook accounts and your constant source to the outside world is an smart devise you don't exist. You think I'm kidding watch people as you travel around. They are always looking down at them. You could rob someone and they would not even be able to give a description other then maybe what shoes they had on. They never look at each other much less talk face to face. It's really strange and should be given a clinical name. I even heard Elton John say it. People tell to much about themselves on social media. They should be carful as you end up not leaving anything else for yourself that should be private.

the hatred of disco was absolutely racists. you had all of these black artists outselling rock music and pulling in white fans. The odd thing is that at the time country rock was doing very well too. the video is wrong about the first disco record being rock your baby written by KC. the first successful and official disco record was Van Mcoy - 'Do the Hustle'.

The first record of disco was actually the intruders she’s a winner. Earl young invented the disco drum pattern. Donna summer made the genre popular. There is also an 80s strain of disco. Michael Jackson’s off the wall was among the first popularly successful records to transition to the 80s. Some call the 80s disco “boogie”. Some call it 80s dance-floor funk. Some call it “post disco”. Some call it 80s dance. Some call it 80s club music. Some call it pre house. I call it 1980s disco.

Blues licks giant clits. Classical is for my asshole. Baroque music? More like baroque back mountain. Gregorian chants all the way.
