Diddy kept saying through his hired bot farm that he did’t like Eminem, and kept spreading shit about Em. That was the only time I ever seen him actually with a peaceful most humble smile. He needed an Asian friend hahaha I think you'll see him smile also in one of the movies they did together when asked about Jet Li. You always see DMX loud and rowdy. But different if you're real with him. Aaliya was one of them also.

There's a Breakfast Club interview with an unsigned rapper and he was talking about his numbers, it's not as big as people with contracts but he makes far more money than they do. Has far more control than they do. It's a simple question if a person wants to make music or be famous. Because chasing that contract comes with a price and not what the label is going to pay them. In any arena the people who care about the art and what it really is go the hard route like DMX, the starving artist route. In science the same thing happened with Nikola Tesla. Those who're business minded swoop in on those who have a mind for innovation but innovation is bad for their business.

Jay was pretty honest about who he is in his lyrics: “we kill you mf’in ants with a sledgehammer, don’t let me do it to you dunny cause I overdo it”, “I’m not a business man I’m a business, man”, “I thought I told you characters I’m not a rapper”, “make 40 off a brick but one rap can beat that”; “yo it's only fair that I warn you, rap's my new hustle, I'm treatin' it like the corner, f- with me if you wanna”, etc. He is all about the business, eliminating competition, and the money; the art-form is just a means to the end.

He was right in everything he said, but the sad thing was he was doing so well and then all of a sudden he’s dead makes you wonder yet again how these two are involved in yet someone else’s death

Seriously though. Respect to Charlemagne for putting that exec on the spot. He wouldn’t let him off the hook there.

I used to work for a club that was associated with ruff ryders (had a lot of them in management and security). They were good for early 00s club guys, definitely would have been cancelled today tho. However there was less shady stuff there than most other clubs.
