Two things are wrong: prosecuting someone for saying something (what about freedom of expression?) and the failure of north american "justice" to not consider the defendant's assets. Here in Brazil, as far as I know (I've lived here for almost 40 years), the judge gives a penalty proportional to the defendant's assets, that is, if Latasha had, for example, $100k, then the fine would be 35k. The logic here is that the fine is educational. In the USA, what is the logic? "You must be someone else's slave and spend your whole life working and give 100% of your money to someone else"?

A lot of KZbin journalists need to be able to have the ability to cover stories without fear of repercussions of those who they are reporting on . Now that said it is really really important that the stories the journalist is covering are factual based and not pure slander. Or as we call it yellow paper journalism. Tabloids in other words. Sensationalism something Hurst did in his publications a lot in fact a lot of publications that Hearst publicized in his newspapers were sensationalized they were not real he in fact would make up situations to report on. And this is what hurts journalism as a whole when integrity is thrown out the window for sensational headline-grabbing articles that captures the public attention yes and increases your exposure but also lowers the integrity and ability to report the news in a biased. Now what that one media personality did with cardi b. What I would classify as yellow paper journalism. It is important for journalists in media personalities to have accuracy in their headlines and report the facts and know that facts, and if upon the fact that disproves a previous report. Issue a retraction. And issue an apology to all those affected.
