I own this, it is among the top 5 drive pedals ever in my opinion. Having played Tube Drivers, Cornish, Ethos, Mythos, Kingtone, Klon, etc. This thing is unreal and what I like about it (unlike an actual Dumble) is that there are not 20 dials and knobs. This dials in very quickly to great tones. Home run pedal.

great playing, great demo and tone....long time HRM owner and fan....how is it different from version 1?
@BuddyBlues Жыл бұрын
Thank you!! This is from their website “For this V2 version we were able to spend about 2 years living with an actual Dumble Amplifier with the HRM EQ mod. This allowed us to really drill down on the subtle nuances to make an even better version than the previous HRM. This pedal, even at lower gain settings, will bloom and feed back, making it feel like the real thing. We found some very nice NOS parts that enhance the authenticity of the V2 version and most importantly it makes it fun to play.” Better than I could have ever explained it

Hey Buddy, Great demo as always. Quick question. I got mine yesterday and unity volume occurs as soon as you crack the volume pot open just like on the V1 Dude, are you finding the same thing? That's the reason I sold my Dude V1 and got the V2 when it came out. That is a deal breaker for me and I'm hoping they didn't use that design on this. I have a message in to JRAD about it and I'm waiting to hear back. Thanks!!!!

How would you rate the touch-sensitivity on the HRM 2? All of the Dumble pedals are super compressed and less sensitive to playing and attack.

I like the sound of this HRM more than the Dude which sounds too dry and over saturated and has less flexibility than the Ethos Clean II and Kingsley Juggler (but those are obviously more expensive and larger pedals)... I love most anything Dumble but haven't tried the Vertex Effects pedals.

Hi. Thank you for sharing the test and your excellent playing. There is a "But"... I have this pedal, bought new. 1) very good overdrive, but nothing to see with an ODS HRM. In fact I get almost exactly the same sound with my Simble, my TS9 and very close with my Golden Cello. We are far from the particular grain that emerges from your test, especially around your 11:30 min. 2) and here, and this is the worst, the HRM is extremely noisy. All the settings at noon are just impossible at the room/studio level. Forget it on stage.... I specify that I use the same power supply and the same jack cable as for the other pedals. Strat, Les Paul and PRS are completely silent. The only way to make the pedal noiseless is to set the Vol and gain to 9 o'clock. At this very low setting there is obviously no longer any point in playing with a pedal. Moreover, adjusting the volume to 12:00 does not give an acceptable balance between clean playing and pedal playing. The pedal becomes way too loud. Acceptable setting for the lead is volume at 9, already loud. So, do you have a hidden box in your chain?
@BuddyBlues Жыл бұрын
I do not have a “hidden” anything in my chain. I appreciate the kind words in the beginning, but do not appreciate the idea that there may be something I’m doing behind the scenes to sell you something, because I get nothing if you buy this or not. That being said, you bought an overdrive pedal and wanted it to be noiseless, that’s just not gonna happen anywhere. You’re not playing through my amp, my pick, my cable, my guitar, my house, my house electricity etc. a lot of variables come into play, but I do my best to demonstrate what this pedal sounds like, and I haven’t once heard a complaint about this pedal being noisy or …”too loud”. I play mine all at noon, it’s on my pedal board as we speak, and sounds great. No post processing is done on any of my videos because I don’t know how to do it, and nothing is “hidden” anywhere.

By the way. Dumble made several different circuits, including the ODS, the ultraphonics, the SSS, and the HRM, to name a few (and variations of each circuit for individual artists). The HRM really did stand for “hot rubber monkey”. Not hot rodded Marshall as you mention in this video. Just his strange sense of humor I suppose.

You demo the pedal as a Dumble owner would play.

@MegaMarPaul Жыл бұрын
@@BuddyBlues Well, it was intended as a compliment. Some of the people demoing this pedal are playing some rather heavy, high gain thrashy motifs. While I like those styles, they are not conducive to the nuances and harmonic structure of a Dumble amplifier. I was friends with Alexander. I met him through Greg Bayles and used to jam with him at Greg's place, Make'n Music L.A. I don't believe he would appreciate the pedal, but he would appreciate your presentation, as I did.

HRM v2 or El Hombre 🤔😒 the EH seems a bit too agressive even with bite setting down... not so much gain on tap. This one seems to be more flexible (EQ and gain) with a compression that seems to help playing... Argh...
@jimsalman7257 Жыл бұрын
I’ve never heard of Mr. Dumble modifying Marshall amps. Where did you hear or read this? Also, HRM (whatever those initials stand for) refers to a variation of the ODS circuit where a 2nd tone stack gets added at the end of the overdrive circuit gain stages. Also, that extra tone stack is implemented as 3 internal trim pots, so it’s a set and forget affair.
