@@Sebastian-hc8rj where tf do you get the idea that you have to yell at your kid to teach them a lesson? Children need to be taught respect, not fear and yelling doesn't teach respect. While some situations do require harsher punishment than others, aggression is rarely the best or even a good answer. Yelling at your kid is more likely to make them fear, resent, and feel isolated from you. Raising your voice is one thing but yelling aggressively is never the best or even a good option. Surely she's a daddy's girl and it's certainly possible he didn't teach her proper respect but that's not guaranteed especially since she's drunk, she could be a respectful person normally and is just really bad under the influence, doesn't seem likely but it's possible. Your first comment just sounds like a college kid that has been in a psychology class for a month and suddenly thinks they know everything about everyone. You don't have to come in so heated saying the dad doesn't deserve respect. He handled that situation as respectfully as he could to the officers. Yelling at his daughter in that situation is going to nothing helpful and if anything will make her more agitated when the priority is getting her to calm the hell down and quietly go to jail.

The psychology behind these people is fascinating. People think that because in a lot of cases, they do receive preferential treatment. Where I live for example, a local "businessman" (read: former mob boss) donated a bunch of money to the cops for new patrol cars, and he's pretty well known in the area for just not obeying traffic laws. That being said, his family is more than just connected to the cops, he's connected to local government as well (basically every man has gotten a donation from his family), so he functionally runs the city.
