bro thinks it's casual to bring a gun to school and keep it in your car. I remember a kid in my high school who got expelled for having a mini keychain WATER SQUIRT GUN on their backpack. Granted this was right after Columbine so security was on super high alert, but that was a bit extreme.
@Sourman15457 ай бұрын
Far as keeping them in the car i could care less. My dad would tell you literally every student had at least 1 hunting rifle or bow/arrow in thier car or truck back in the 70s. and they weren't even hidden jus ton the racks mounted to back of the cab. It was common to say hey you wana go hunting after school or you wana shoot some cans off of my dad fence post it was a way of life

@Sourman1545 I think the key difference you're missing is school shootings rarely happened before the late 90's Also it wasn't like kids in the 70's had access to automatic weapons. There's a school shooting every other day in the US as of 2024.

I mean except when they charge innocent people:/ interrogators can twist words and make the suspect say ANYTHING if they keep them in there long enough. That first vid is something similar to something that happened to my mother's bf actually. It was the early 90s and he had his hunting guns in the back of his car because he forgot to take them out when he was hunting over the weekend. he almost got arrested and did actually suspended (and i think eventually expelled too?) because a student passing by saw them and called the police. My ma said it was completely by accident and he apologized the whole time he was interrogated, even actually giving an apology to the teachers and the principal for making them worry. The fact that that kid somehow didn’t know that bringing a REAL GUN to school is illegal is baffling, I’m not surprised at all that that kid was held back a year. 😅 my hometown is a lot like pigs so I know a bunch of kids would bring guns to school in their trucks or whatever, but even they knew what they were doing is illegal lol.

So, her account of the events is not "hearsay" bc hearsay is when a witness/plantiff/defendent- someone who is giving testimony in court- testifies that another person told them about something they saw. There are exceptions to hearsay- like final words spoken before death. Dying declaration are admissable in court, even if they were not recorded and were only heard by a witness. So if a witness hears a victim name their murderer directly before passing, it's admissable in court. Not enough for a conviction on it's own tho. That was just her statement, and the detectives' lack of due diligence was what skewed things in her favor. Nothing to do with hearsay tho, bc that's only relevant in a trial setting

I just always knew that guns were dangerous and you needed to respect them, and grew up with gun safety in mind. Never would have been so ignorant to bring a bullet to school. 5:31 the fact that multiple cops there do not know the (general) use of .22 cal or how to use a lever action rifle is very concerning to me. I would expect someone that owns and carries fire arms as a profession would know _at least a lil bit_ about different calibers and types of firearms. I mean c'mon, the cops are older than the 18 year old who owns the repeating style rifle I had multiple people in my highschool who kept shotguns in their trucks. I also live in a Midwest hicktype area where teens in highschool dress in all camo, dip, drive a truck their dad gave them and for some reason keep shot guns in them.

So in the first case I can slightly relate to the kid but if you hear me out it'll make sense. The only thing I can relate to is accidentally having a bullet with you because of not knowing any betterI was in 5th or 6th grade I had went on a hunting trip with my dad. I had never been on one, my parents got divorced and my mom moved a state away. So I was a dumb fucking kid a brought a bullet with me that I saved to commemorate the trip, to showy friends that I made at this new school because hunting was super popular where I was now. All in all I can totally relate to not knowing but it was a different time, if I remember right it was like 2007 or 8 so the threat of school shooting wasn't as high and I also was only like 11 or 12 so it is quite different.

In that situation though having a gun wouldve made me feel a lot safer whether or not I would've even taken it out or not.
