Jp respect stuff is next level man. Like it is litterally life and death. For jp, any person they meet they must evaluate if they are older than them or in a senior position to them and address them based on that. Jp fella I work with has said several times it is 1 thing he enjoys here in not having to stress so much about the little shit. All different things you do and say in jp there is an order to. 1 Point where he pointed this out is another jp fellow just after starting work here, they had spoken the day before and exchanged pleasantries etc, but the next day when they greeted each other my colleague said "did you notice that? I never said my age to him, but he has weighed it up and guessed older than him and addressed me respectfully woth ohayo gozaimasu instead of with just a casual ohayo" I always kinda wonder for vtubers in hl as some of them have been in the game for a fair while already, so could potentially be a thing of being senpai in the same company, but the other is senpai in the profession. Idk how that works. Will have to ask the bro about it when I see him next. But yea for subaru being so young, even tho she is now a respected senpai she is still super conscious of this. But especially those senior in the company _and_ in experience she returns instinctively to saying senpai because the respect she has for them. Tbf she isn't much younger than FBK, but still. When pekora and korone first collabed you can see a bit of it there where pekora called korone koro chan and korone just messing with pekora asked who said she could say that, because she hadn't actually asked, just hoped that it would be alright and kinda went panik for a bit. I think a lot of it amongst the younger demographic is not as heavy as it used to be, whereas for the older gens, if you addressed an elder the wrong way you would probs get a hiding. As the bro said "you would hear from an elder _come with me boy, I need a word with you_ " kowai!

Honorifics come with the weight of being respectful towards someone older than us. To drop it means disrespect. Age is a big factor in addressing someone in the east unlike in the west where I know some people can just call their parents by their names. God forbid you do that in an eastern home, you're gonna get kicked out and disowned. Japan kicks it on another level since they're really polite most of the time. Being polite means you don't want to risk being disrespectful towards others. It's instilled in them since they're in school. And they use honorifics not only to sign respect towards someone older, but also towards someone who joined their workplace earlier than them, regardless of age due to the nature of them being more experienced. More experience = Respect. Subaru is the serious type of girl inside. It's no wonder it's affecting her so much lol. _(:3
